If it helps, Ruger did create a variant of the Mini-14/Mini-30 that fires 7.62X51 NATO, but they never brought it to market. Too bad. It is a pretty good design. The main failing of those two rifles is a very thin barrel that differentially heats after about 5 rounds. The consequence is vertical stringing of the point of impact.
Sorry, dude, the Ruger mini series sucks uniformly. Accuracy is substandard. About the only positive thing to say about the Mini system is that it doesn't jam....TOO often.
