Sure... a fader bar looks sort of like a very small throddle control on a boat. A small lever that can be pushed forward to a stop or pulled back to a stop. The "fader bar" is used to smoothly transition between two video sources. In this case when the fader bar was pulled back we have a picture of V.P. Cheney only. When we push the bar forward we keep the picture of the V.P. but then fade in the black "X". The video I saw the "X" did not appear suddenly as in a "take" it was "faded" in and then back out.

You know about this sort of thing, and I am a dunce. In your opinion, could this have been done by accident?

If CNN could show some other examples of this 'glitch' from old reels.... let's see them!

It's rather hard to maintain that an 15 frame animated key that has been faded into and out of a live video feed is a "glitch."
