Probably just an honest mistake...
I'm surprised they even covered his speech live...

I saw it and immediately feared the worst: that it might be a signal to someone to do harm. But I have no evidence of that of course. It is just that we live in politically hateful times where some politicians seem like they would do anything... yes, anything, to hurt this administration and get themselves back into power.

Pinging the list!
CNN puts X over Cheney's face.

Rush should have some interesting comments today!

The day after the 403-3 vote I told my wife three things:
1. The Democrats are caught totally wrong footed on the strategy they had planned for the elections next year and are now working on strategies on what to do about it.
2. The left wing of the Democrat party is totally shell shocked with their world turned upside down over their heads. After all, according to their world view here was their chance to ensure Bush was the evil guy and all they had to do was count the votes proving how wrong Iraq was, yet all they got was 3 lousy votes.
3. The left media is going to turn very vindictive and spiteful.
Obviously what we see here is my third point. One thing this proves for sure is how much of an ass-whoopin we gave them in the Congress. Be happy about that. :)

Huh. Right. Within a year, we'll be able to look back at this and know it was just the start. The libtards are desperate, and, just like they always do when they are desperate, they'll do stupid things.
This was intentional, plain and simple. Mark my words.

Over 5 years ago, I had our Dish Satellite System installed to be able to get Fox News. Our local cable system refused to carry FNS.
When the installer finished the installation, he went through how to use the remote and trouble shot problems.
After that demo, he asked if I had any questions.
I replied, "Show me how to block a channel", and he said which channel or channels. I said, "CNN!".
He laughed and said that was a common request. He showed me how to block CNN, and it has remained block since then.
The bias at CNN and stunts like this will keep CNN blocked on our satellite system.
Eventually advertisers will tire of CNN chasing away conservatives and stop advertising with CNN. CNN has a smaller audience and often gets a higher ad rate than Fox News. The boards of those companies, which allow the payment of a higher rate, might find themselves in some future SEC investigation. Keeping CNN afloat is not a valid profit objective for any corporation.

MARKETING FIRM CONTACTS CNN; X WAS INTENTIONAL
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 22 /U.S. Newswire/ The following statement concerning CNNs airing of an X over live video of Vice President Cheney was released today by Team Hollywood:
Monday morning, Nov. 21, 2005, at 11:00 AM, as CNN aired Vice President Dick Cheneys speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, the cable network flashed onscreen, repeatedly, a large black X over the Vice Presidents face, while a headline at the bottom of its screen read, CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE.
Unfortunately for CNN, a large number of their demographics also participate in Internet communities and Blogs, representing a large portion of their viewership and posing a threat to news cable and newspaper subscribers fees.
Millions from across the country telephoned CNN to alert the network about an accidental X over the Vice Presidents face, only to be told that the X was intentional against the present administration. CNN callers flooded the Internet and online communities with calls to boycott the network.
Likewise, the international marketing consulting firm Team Hollywood Inc., responsible for a database of over 11 million Americans, both Democrats and Republicans from across the country, was consumed with the calls. The volume of calls to our company became an issue that could not be ignored, stated Joan Friedman of Team Hollywood. We needed a statement on behalf of the Internet community callers and their newsworthy Blogs, so we made the call.
When the founders of the company, Preska Thomas and Kevin Finn, made contact with the network, to their surprise they were bullied and harassed in the same way by the Headline News desk. Callers were repeatedly told by CNN, Tell the President and Vice-President Dick Cheney to stop lying. Team Hollywoods conversation with the newsdesk was recorded. When the tape is played back, amongst political statements being made by the network were the words that the X was intentional, as an act of free speech by CNN.
Kevin Finn said, The Vice-President is a symbol of the United States, much like the American flag. For CNN to desecrate the image of the Vice President is the same as the Iranians burning the U.S. flag at a rally staged for the whole world via television. It is a slap in the face to all those who serve and have served in the armed forces.
A Democrat caller, Tricia Rosenberg of Beverly Hills, Calif., compared the big X across the Vice Presidents face to the markings of a serial killers hit list. I cant believe that CNN resorted to such a tacky object.
Preska Thomas said, Fair and balanced? I am certain that we have all heard those words before. Not exactly smart as a FOX! News should be non-partisan.
CNN was caught off-guard at the companys headquarters in Atlanta by the recording. The statements that were made through their Headline News desk are not acceptable and there are calls on the Internet for investigation by the FCC, the FBI and the Trilateral Commission.
I guess this means that despite the technical message that appeared below the desk, the X itself was intentional. This violates laws against subliminal messages, and casts a grim shadow on CNN. This is a strange story, but if it proves to be true, CNN has some explaining to do.
