Given that we know a couple of their examples are frauds already (Kerry's self-awarded medals, Al Gore's joke of service) I wonder how puffed up the rest of that list is? I also noticed that they omitted crucial pieces of information concerning Bill "I loathe the military" Clinton.

You miss his point. The RATS are resorting to the same arguments about who served vs. who didn't that they denounced when a rapist, traitorous, draft-dodging, serial criminal was running for President of the United States.

They resorted to it twice: in 1992, and again four years later, against decorated WW2 vets. Funny how that amnesia kicked in so quickly when in 2000, 2004, and today the same RATS tried to make an issue out of Dubya's TANG service and denouncing anybody who dares criticize the senile Murtha for being against their attempt to surrender to Al Queda.

Wow. He just demonstrated that he can select a group of politicians and make some sort of political point. Whoop-de-doo. Let's take a look at the last few presidential elections...

2004
Bush 43:
Served in the nat'l guard.
Kerry:
A few questionably attained purple hearts in four months of service. Claimed to have been sent to Cambodia by a president who wasn't in office.

2000
Bush 43:
See above.
Algore:
Was a reporter or some such in Vietnam.

1996:
Clinton:
Dodged draft.
Dole:
Lost use of right arm during action in WWII.

1992:
Clinton:
See above.
Bush 41:
Youngest pilot to serve in WWII

1988:
Dukakis:
Once rode in a tank.
Bush 41:
See above.

BTW, John Wayne is a pundit? Will someone please inform this idiot that he's dead?

The DimoWits have been compiling "Chickenhawk" lists for along time now, supposedly to show how tough they are, compared to Republicans that have served in the military (of which I am one.)

They always end up going back to shrill and vulgar mode, take it too far and end up just looking ridiculous as usual. Witness, their "Chickenhawk" Deck of Cards:

And their "pundit lists" ALWAYS neglect to include pundits that HAVE served in the military such as Col North, et al. *Rolleyes*

So did Timothy McVeigh.
But Bill Clinton didn't.
Neither did Hillary.

Leftists just don't learn, do they?
When they get selective with their facts, we just slam them with all the facts.

Like the "pull out or not" vote, we need a list showing ALL congresscritters' service status. The result will likely destroy the above propaganda.

No one needs to have served in order to express an opinion about the security of the United States. There are plenty of people ranting about how bad the war is who have never served, either. They are the same people who quote e-mails like this one.

Lincoln was the militia for a very short time during the so-called "Black Hawk War" in Illinois.

This is from the party that sought to invalidate military ballots in 2000.

While excluding currently-serving Republicans who were in the military (e.g. the much-maligned Duke Cunningham), they went into the "way-back machine" to find guys like George McGovern on the Democrat side to pad the score. By this logic they should include Dwight Eisenhower (no less deceased than John Wayne), George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan.

No kidding. They also forgot to include Strom Thurmond, who parachuted into Normandy with the Airborne on D-Day.

* Bill Clinton: Did not serve, student deferments. Entered draft but received #311.

Bill Clinton: Tried to use his employer, Senator Fulbright, to get him out of the draft. Lied to his draft board about his intention to enroll in an ROTC program. Never enrolled in an ROTC program. Went to England and lead anti-war demonstrations. Also visited Moscow. Later wrote incredibly stupid letter to the head of his draft board, thanking him for helping Clinton to escape the draft.

What phoney memos do they have to support this. Bush got an honorable discharge, I am not sure the same could be said for Kerry.

A large number of these Dems are out of office and have been for several years - and this is the only way you can get a large number of Dems with service - to include all of those with service records that go back several years.

Bob Kerrey? Out of office for 4 years.
Bonior? Out for 3 years
Daschle? Out for 1 year
Al Gore? Out for 5 years
Max Cleland? Out for 3 years
Fritz Hollings? Out for 1 year
Gray Davis? Out for I don't remember but its about 2 years or so
Chuck Robb? Out for 4 years - and beaten by my hero George Allen no less
Howell Heflin? Out for 8 years
George Mcgovern? Out for 25 years
Bill Clinton? Out for 5 years and didn't serve anyway because of a loathing for the military
Jimmy Carter? Out for 25 years
Walter Mondale? Out for 25 years
John Glenn? Out for 6 years

And thats over half the people on the list. So what are they really trying to say - that there are only a dozen or so current Dems in office with military experience?

>More Democrats that are elected have served in the military because this helps them get paste the stereotype that Dems are wooses on Natl Defense.<

There is no evidence more Dems have served. They have listed virtually every Dem that has served on this list.It is really relatively short.I suspect in absolute numbers the GOP wins.I can think of 2 or 3 Republicans off the top of my head that served.

They mentioned Ted Kennedy. How about Robert? How about Robert F.Jr.? How about brave little Howard Ford Jr. that got in the face of a woman on the floor of congress Friday? He sure made Imus proud.

Liberals are a very very confused bunch.

They believe governors and mayors send people off to war.
