Most of us wouldn't mind being a saint; we just don't want to take the course for sainthood.....We might opt for being great if we just didn't have to become great. And so we settle for the little village at the foot of the trail instead of climbing the torturous trail to the summit....But to choose, anywhere along the way, not to endure the pain of the climb is to miss the grandeur of the mountain peak.(Verdell Davis)
T.C. climbed to the summit. Those of us left in the valley will remember him and the climb will be easier. Rest in peace cowboy.

I kept hoping this wouldn't happen, what a great loss. I didn't know him personally, but will miss him on FR. What a sad time for his family and friends. Prayers for all.

(Goodbye TC, You will be missed my friend.)
To: All
"I Can Only Imagine"
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine
[Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
[Chorus]
I can only imagine [x2]
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

Man, just saw this post today. Our thoughts and prayers are with TC's family and friends. I have to echo another FReeper's sentiments about the passing of members of the last great generation. I may be a couple generations away, but I can fully appreciate what they have done for us and our country.
With great sympathy,
Lone, Mrs.Lone & family

As I think of the things I am thankful for, having the chance to get to FReep with El Roy, and to talk to him as well, are things I am very thankful for. He was a man of great passion and conviction, a man of pride and determination, but what I was blessed to "see" was his humility. I will always cherish our conversations, and although I am so sad that he didn't win this last battle, I know he is in God's hands and has found the peace he searched so hard to find.
Thank you TC. I miss you, and I am so glad to have known you.
To: Eaker
So, sorry to hear this. It was a long battle, but the only losers are his friends and family. Texas Cowboy is in a better place.

Well Knowing how TC touched all ya'lls life he also was very kind to me and after he fell ill I decided to make changes in my life.
Diet according to Amer. Diabetes Assc and a whole lotta excercise. (hence no time for FR forum posting now a days)
Now 5 months later I have very normal Blood Glucose levels,
very normal Cholesteral, and have lost 50lbs. (and going)
Thanksgiving will be delectible foods from recipes I found at GourmetDiabeticMenu.
My lifesyle changes is now encouraging others.
Thank You TC for the love you shared with everyone it left its mark.

TexasCowboy contributed tremendously to this forum.
He was a good man.
With a great sense of humor which he never seemed to have lost even when under the tremendous pressure of his struggles.
From his last post at Free Republic:
"Connie, you can tell that old hound that's lucky enough to share your bed that I'll be around to pour the water bucket on his head at the tail gate party next year"
He will be at all the next Free Republic Annual Picnics in spirit.

Great pictures of COB. Indeed he'll have a blast at the next tailgate party. Y'all 'll have to look out for his humor coming from a different direction entirely now. :-)
