Excellant idea.
Very sorry to hear this
That is an excellent picture of COB! Such a great grin.
A sad day.
Oh my goodness! #494 has to be just about the cutest pic I've EVER seen...
...the little one will treasure it in the years to come!!
Three generations of Ray's at the shooting range.
Peace and godspeed.
God bless you TC.
Please look down on us from up there and pray for us.
Kevin
Thank you, Star, for the o so beautiful and o so appropriate music selections. This morning, I was listening to Cowboy Songs by Michael Martin Murphy in honor of TC.
Tonkin kept pinging me to TC's prayer thread, until I got to know more about COB. We exchanged a couple of FReepmails while he was in the hospital, and I wish I had known him.
These are the lyrics from one of MMM's cowboy songs:
Oh, bury me not on the lone prairie
These words came low and mournfully,
From the pallid lips of a youth who lay,
On his dying bed at the close of day.
He was wasted and pined
till o'er his brow
Death's shades were
slowly gathering now.
He thought of home
and loved ones night,
As the cowboys gathered
to watch him die.
"Oh bury me not
on the lone prairie,
Where the coyotes howl
and the wind blows free.
In a narrow grave
just six by three.
O bury me not
on the lone prairie."
"It matters not,
I've oft been told,
Where the body lies
when the heart grows cold.
Yet grant, oh grant,
this wish to me,
Oh bury me not
on the lone prairie."
"I wish to lie
where a mother's prayer
And a sister's tear
will mingle there,
Where friends can come
and weep o'er me,
Oh bury me not
on the lone prairie."
Yep, I think so too. Texas Cowboy and Texas Termite - my two favorite cowboys outside of western books and movies! :-)
Prayers for his repose and for those who love him.
Most faithful God, lively is the courage of those who hope in You. Your servant suffered greatly, but placed his trust in Your mercy. Confident that the petition of those who mourn pierces the clouds and finds an answer, we beg You, give rest to him. Do not remember his sins, but look upon his sufferings and grant him refreshment, light, and peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
I feel like someone just punched me in the chest and knocked the air out. God love him...
Oh my gosh. That's GREAT! Thanks...more, more, more!
I didn't take any pictures while we were visiting...just didn't seem right...and he looks so much better in these. :-) Hospital gowns just don't cut it, though he made it look better 'en anyone I've seen. ;-)
Thanks for the ping and the news my friend.
My prayers for his family.
Coincidentally, I was thinking about him Thursday. It was around 7pm Eastern.
In that picture Texas Cowboy looks like a Texas Ranger in the old west. The one that comes riding into town looking for the bad guys and taking them in dead or alive.
He will be missed.
Pinging for pic's
Rest well TC, the pain and suffering has ended and it is time to enjoy the rest of Eternity with the father and the son.
