I wouldn't call this resolution a "transparent spoof." This was an attempt to get people like Murtha and Pelosi to stop their obvious use of the Iraq war to advance their shallow political self-interest. This was an effort to debate the full ramifications of a quick military withdrawal from Iraq and push House members to stop the political talk and make a strategic decision about the real world. While it was largely a symbolic vote, I think the GOP accomplished these objectives last night.

A while ago, the Dims pulled a "stunt" in the Senate, and that was OK. Now it was the turn of the pubblies in the House to show that two can play that game. But of course, it was not a stunt. There were a lot of angry people on the floor tonight, because we are dealing with a serious matter.
