True story. Swingline did not have a red stapler. After Ofice Space they were inundated with orders. Knock offs began appearing in the market, and they decided to produce one. Today, it is their bestselling stapler.
Fascinating....they adapted to the demand rather quickly, I see :-). I have a couple old office staplers from the 70's era....they are stainless steel, rather large and will problably last forever.
