Murtha said something that struck me as very odd. He said that he made the department of defense give a man a purple heart or he was going to give this man his own.
Well, wouldn't that be wrong? You make the department of defense give a person a purple heart if they didn't qualify for it to begin with?
It makes no difference to me either way, but I would think someone would call him on that.

Just came on the thread, but this reminded me of an episode of M*a*s*h when hawkeye gave a purple heart to a baby injured in the womb...
