GOP Pulls Fast One... Tells Dems: Pull Troops Now? Okay, then let's vote!!!!! Tonight. 7 p.m. in House... Ultimate showdown...
Sorry, but Murtha has no class--he's just an ass. He has a patriotic resume, but a person is only as patriotic as his last act, and his last act is pro-al Qaeda. Benedict Arnold was a great patriotic general until his last act in the Continental Army. If you apply the logic the 'Rats are using today, Arnold is a great American hero.
We have accomplished our mission?
Now he wants them home.
It's scaring the crap outta me! If we pull out now, 9/11 will look like a teddy bear picnic!
Kanjorski from Pennsylvania
Is this guy telling all our enemies we are weak???
He's right that we are running low on supplies.
And he's right we have to fix our stuff.
But that's no reason to pull out of Iraq.
Now he's arguing that we need to abandon our allies because we don't have enough money?
I say let him talk alnight. This is what happens when he's allowed to talk.
An exchange with Margaret Warner on last night's "NewsHour With Jim Lehrer," though, suggests that Murtha has simply taken leave of reality:
Warner: But may I ask you, sir, if you believe--[the president] says--for whatever reason, Iraq has become the center of terrorism - that if the U.S. appears to retreat in the face of that, that it will be a blow to the American fight against radical Islamic terrorism? What do you say to that?
Murtha: Well, I say that the fight against Americans began with Abu Ghraib. It began with the invasion of Iraq. That's when terrorism started. It didn't start when there was criticism of this administration. This administration doesn't want to listen to any ideas.
So according to Murtha, "terrorism started" either in March 2003 (with the "invasion of Iraq") or in May 2004 (when the Abu Ghraib miniscandal came to light). One wonders where he was in, say, September 2001. One wonders, too, how a political party can keep a straight face while putting him forward as a spokesman on national security.
Don't count on it..
Why does Murtha get to go on and on? I agree... this is dangerous. And CNN broke into its programming and is covering ONLY Murtha' speech apparently...
the way they talk about this guy it sounds like john kerry all over again.
We can thank BJ CLinton for the massive cuts in our armed forces.
How long does this double-chinned fathead get to speak?
Talk about torture...they should make inmates at Club Gotmo listen to this!!!
Hey Murtha, here's the strategy--
1. We WIN
2. They LOSE
3. We LEAVE
As "exit strategies" go, MaryJo Kopechne really needed one (if you catch my drift).
He is terrible. What a pathetic old man. He is right up there with Kennedy.
I don't understand Murtha; at one point he said we needed more troops to get the job done. Then, in the next breath, he talks about our presence that portrays an occupation. What does he think more troops means to the perception of an occupation?
Anyone watching CNN already has their mind made up anyhow. The key is the fodder that will come out of this that can be use in the elections next year.
Why?
Heck no, he's never gonna shut up so anyone else can speak.
Dam Right....
Why would an Ohio Senator be in the House chamber. BTW, Voinovich voted against a timetable for withdrawal as did DeWine. Spent some time on the phone with their offices today...
LOL ... yep
