GOP Pulls Fast One... Tells Dems: Pull Troops Now? Okay, then let's vote!!!!! Tonight. 7 p.m. in House... Ultimate showdown...
He did it to follow his leaders who have convinced him they are on a roll and will win the House in 2006 and he wants a Chairmanship - they are promising it to him and he is following like a little puppy his Traitorous leaders. Sad day for a marine.
Nothing on CPAN or CSPAN2.
Wouldn't it be cool if coalition troops were to suddenly find the missing WMDs days after this vote?
Wouldn't that be the final nail in the RAT coffin?
(I still think the WMDs are hidden in Syria)
Murtha is NOT a centrist. ANYONE who claims that is lying.
Right on! Murtha was one of Dean's biggest backers for DNC chairman. Maybe I ought to be thankful to the blockhead for that!
Note to ''Cut and Run'' Murtha -
Benedict Arnold fought bravely in a war - but that's not what he's remembered for.
For those who missed it earlier on the floor:

I must say I am proud of our Republican Congressmen for pressing this vote. Our Troops deserve a bi-partisan message of support.
It's about the pubbies called these liberal, jerk-weed, moonbat, wimps out ~ Big Bump!!!
My advice: stop watching the news. If you must watch the news, watch FOX news. It won't make you think you're living in France.
See yo freepmail!
Luv it! (Post 49)
Yes, letters are good. But this debate on the House floor is very good, too. Once in a while, people need to take sides. Davey Crockett, William Travis, the line in the sand, all that stuff.
what C-Span is it on? I've got c-span one and two. It's 7:18 PM here in north Florida... is it today, the 18th?
Not dementia. Advanced Democratic party.
They give life to the word humility.
Col Brown is not one to be sucked in to the MSM attempts to distort and manipulate...he is solid gold:)
The Dims must be putting pressure on Murtha somehow.
Can't imagine them walking out...the headlines in many papers (not the NYT or WP) would say that the democrats walked out on the troops.
Arrgg! I gotta go, y'all have fun. I'll have to catch up later...
"Resolved, That is is the sense of the House of Representatives that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately."
The resolution was introduced by a Republican, and is being peddled as accurately representing the sentiment of DEM Rep. Murtha. The Rep. who introduced the resolution, Hunter, announced that he would be voting against it.
Here is the conclusion of Murtha's position. It can be compared with the above resolution.
I believe before the Iraqi elections, scheduled for mid December, the Iraqi people and the emerging government must be put on notice that the United States will immediately redeploy. All of Iraq must know that Iraq is free. Free from United States occupation. I believe this will send a signal to the Sunnis to join the political process for the good of a free Iraq.My plan calls:
To immediately redeploy U.S. troops consistent with the safety of U.S. forces.
To create a quick reaction force in the region.
To create an over- the- horizon presence of Marines.
To diplomatically pursue security and stability in Iraqhttp://www.house.gov/apps/list/press/pa12_murtha/pr051117iraq.html
The Honorable John P. Murtha - November 17, 2005
