Sen. Kerry says you can't critisize Murtha if you didn't wear the uniform so please refer to Oswald as former Marine Lee Harvey Oswald.

And after 37 years in the Marine Corps, Murtha still didn't learn our motto, "Semper Fidelis!"

Semper Fi,
Kelly

PS I called Murtha's office yesterday and read them the "riot act" and also told them that Murtha should resign from Congress.

I've been wondering if Soros/Moveon got to him somehow? This is too big a switch to be anything else.

No its not.

He was never a "hawk" to begin with.

He has had "vietnam syndrome" from the very begining.

In fact, everything he is saying now, he has been saying for awhile.

He wants the whole war to be fought from Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, with a handfull of bases in iraq, where the soldiers only leave when something happens.

Why this just became news is beyond me, he hasn't exactly supported the war with open arms this whole time.

There is a difference between Col. Murtha & Rep. Murtha. Col. Murtha was a patriot & honorable man.Democrat Rep. Murtha has become a loathsome traitorous fifth columnist who dishonors his fellow veterans and emboldens those who would kill ALL Americans especially those serving today.
I will give him (not his venomous fellow Democrat & Republicrat poltroons) the benefit of the doubt & blame this treasonous behavior on SENILITY.

What a mass of contradictions this man is. He says he is speaking on behalf of the troops, but his bashing of the administration, the military brass and the WOT is actually further endangering our deployed troops. The Dim-wit opposition always satisfies and encourages the terrorists and he knows it.

If he's so smart about how to wage a war, then why doesn't he work through Comittees and other constructive channels instead of grandstanding in the media limelight?

And what kind of Marine is he if he doesn't close his statement with "Semper fi?" It's just more left-brained bluster from a nutcase who has sadly betrayed his service.

1. How old is this guy?

2. What was his military rank in Vietnam?

3. Like McPain he is on the decline spiritually and physically.

4. When AQ strikes again, he's told our bravest and best that AQ cannot be defeated.

It would be so sad, if it wasn't so maddening.

He won't dare show up at any more Marine Corps Birthday balls. The Marine Corps does not respond well to traitors in its ranks.

Thanks for the clarification... the MSM is blaring this as a 180 and talking about his being an Col, ex-vietnam vet, ex Hawk, etc..

His career may be long and distingushed, but he has obviously not given any thought to what will happen if we pulled out tomorrow.

Although he at one time served his country he has now decided to serve the Demorat party. Too bad. Is it true he has to kiss Kennedy's ring each morning before starting work?

"37 years and he couldn't manage one star? What kind of an idiot is this guy?"

I'm not a Murtha Apologist, but you have to keep in mind that the USMC is a much smaller service than rest. It's also more streamlined and a lot less top-heavy. When I was at the Army Military Police Officer Advanced Course in 1995, one of my classmates was a Marine Corps MP Captain. I remember a conversation with him, during which he told me (at that time anyways) the highest billet for an MP Officer in the Corps was for a LTC / O5. Even if he was at the top of his profession, as an MP, he was not going to go very far beyond that.

He's nuts. With an election a month away why would he even think about bringing this up? He doesn't think his statement will have an effect?

Especially since plans for withdrawl seem to be in the works.

BZ, Kelly! I'm sure it means more coming from a Marine than from civilians.

"I have been visiting our wounded troops at Bethesda and Walter Reed hospitals almost every week since the beginning of the War. And what demoralizes them is going to war with not enough troops and equipment to make the transition to peace; the devastation caused by IEDs; being deployed to Iraq when their homes have been ravaged by hurricanes; being on their second or third deployment and leaving their families behind without a network of support."

With all due respect, Rep. Murtha, perhaps you should be proposing innovative solutions to the problems instead of surrending. How about cutting pork and using the money to buy the military better equipment or increasing enlistment bonuses?

Rep. Murtha, I think I finally understand your motives. You DO care about the military, but you're a terrible leader. You are placing the views of individual soldiers on par with the strategies and tactics of the generals who are leading them. ALL wars involve death and destruction, and we indeed owe a great debt to those who have paid with their lives or limbs. Yet, your calls to cut and run dishonor the very people you care about and ignore the obvious--nothing worthwhile can ever be accomplished without sacrifice. You were a Colonel once. Please act like it!

We have more traitors in the US today than I ever thought would be possible.

Same here. When California issues a vanity license plate stating 'WMD LIE,' you know that anti-Americanism has become a way of life. I saw this license plate myself one morning on the car of someone dropping off a child at an elementary school in my neighborhood.

That does not absolve him from being wrong on some military issues or his opinion of this war.

The biggest lie perpetrated by the Democrats is separating the Iraq theater from the WOT. Murtha continues that lie.

His service is honorable as is the service of all men and women. He is one of many and his opinion should be weighed as such.

Looks to me like Murtha has traded in the US/Marine Corps flags for the white/French flags.
