BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) — Suicide bombers killed 74 worshippers at two Shiite mosques near the Iranian border Friday, while a pair of car bombs targeting a Baghdad hotel housing Western journalists killed eight Iraqis.
The suicide attackers targeted the Sheik Murad mosque and the Khanaqin Grand Mosque in Khanaqin, 90 miles northeast of Baghdad, as dozens of people were attending Friday prayers, police said. The police command said 74 people were killed and 75 wounded in the largely Kurdish town.
At sunset, dozens of people were still searching the rubble of the three-story Khanaqin Grand Mosque. As the men dug, 12-year-old Sarkhel Akram collected copies of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, then she kissed them and put them away.
Al-Qaeda thanks you, Mr. Murtha.

By the way, re: Mr. Murtha's comment about Dick Cheney not having served, so he has no credibility to speak on this issue...
Did Mr. Murtha serve in Afghanistan or Iraq? If not, then how does this give him any damn credibility to speak on this conflict? And even if he did, MURTHA SERVED IN A WAR WE LOST!...And how did we lose it? Specifically because the bloody politicians did then, what Murtha and his a-hole friends in Congress are trying to do now!
We just had a bloody 18 month referendum on the Iraq war...called the 2004 Presidential Election. I thought "we" won. Now it looks like we're going to have to fight it all over again. If that is the case, then I hope and plan to make the Left pity the day that they brought this fight.
And I'm sure the two million Cambodians that were slaughtered in the Killing Fields, would have wished the US achieved its objectives in Southeast Asia, before the anti-war pukes forced us out of there.

Every Muslim should be rising up against these Islamicists. I'm proud of the Jordanians for their response to the hotel bombings. Wonder why there isn't more of that going on. Could it be that more Muslims support what the terrorists are doing than Muslism who don't support such action?
Thanks to Murtha, I'm sure there are many Iraqis today that are frightened that we are going to cut-and-run, and are terrified for their lives should that happen. They aren't about to go public against the "insurgents", because they're afraid they're going to be at the "insurgents" mercy before too long. Again, thanks Murtha.
