I propose that the sensible tolerant left buy all the American Girl dolls not being snapped up by the wild-eyed right. After all, how devastating can it really be for a corporation to lose the business of folks who are not part of the mainstream?

My daughter's favorite thing at Christmas was getting the next American Girl Doll...she has a collection of around eight of them along with a bunch of accessories and all the books that go along with them. Am I to believe she is going to grow up and become a lesbian and pro abortion.. Ummm, oh yeah, she's all grown up and in college, and is far from being a lesbian (take my word for it) and is as pro life as I am..which is 100%. Funny thing, she can't wait to give her daughter (if she ever has one) her prize collection some day.
Did I miss the point here? Maybe I did.

From the tone of his article, he sounds like a wild-eyed crazed wacko foaming at the mouth because someone stepped on his agenda. LOL!!

Sakes, give her a razor for her 13th birthday and show her how to shave her legs. The lefties won't go near her.

I was at a small town craft fair 2 Saturdays ago and purchased 2 handmade 18 dolls (vinyl heads, arms and legs, cloth body) and six handmade outfits with matching shoes for $53 total. They each have a skating outfit, fancy dress and casual fleece outfits, sandals, roller skates, ice skates, mittens and earmuffs.
My two girlies are going to be thrilled and frankly I wish I had bought more outfits as the quality was awesome and each was totally unique.

You know something? I want to create a "Bible Dolls" collection for Jewish and Christian little girls.
Any FReepers want to partner?
FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry ping list.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.

That and funding propaganda encouraging them toward lesbianism, matrubation, and abortion. What the hell is matrubation? Rubbing on a mat?

Am I to believe she is going to grow up and become a lesbian and pro abortion...The issue isn't the dolls, rather the philanthropic/co-marketing arrangement with a pro-abortion group. That's a legitimate issue to protest, just as the left protests the Boy Scouts. The author simply has no tolerance for differing opinions.

I read all the Hildegarde Frey campfire books as a child. They were my favorite books, better than Nancy Drew.

Since abstinence has been known to fail,...Huh?? Almost as inane as his example of a Catholic Church objecting to a pro-abortion message.

It's not that we are afraid that we are "buying a miniature lesbian companion" for our daughters it IS that we refuse to support a company that gives money to causes we find abhorent. Of course, they know that......that's why they're making up FRAUDULENT CLAIMS REGARDING THE BOYCOTT!!!
What is this company donating to? pro-hmosexual groups

It does fail when a person choses to no longer be abstinate. As a mother of a teen daughter I am forthright when letting her know it is the best route and let her know sex under 18 is unacceptable. I also know from my work with young women they also need info on how to protect themselves. Lets be honest here how many people here (or people you know) did not have sex until they were married.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Still if my daughter wanted one versus say a "my scene" girl, I have to select the doll not wearing eyeliner. It's just a better way.

Since abstinence has been known to fail... Abstinence has never been known to fail unless they are talking about rape.

I emailed this company about a week ago when someone first brought it to light here. i told them that I do not support a company who links to girls Inc, and immediately makes reference to sexuality. Why does a girl who plays with dolls need to know about that??

Obviously, any little girl who buys deeply into the American Girl mystique - emphasis on "buy" - is well on her way to dressing for success in life. At the very least, she has a shot at becoming a particularly well-tailored trophy wife. Does this writer even know that the dolls represent (fictional) historic characters? Yeah, every executive wants a trophy wife who dresses like an 1840's immigrant farm girl, or a Civil War era slave.

we refuse to support a company that gives money to causes we find abhorent. Exactly. No different if they were giving their money to Islamic terrorists.
Would I be concerned that my daughter would become a suicide bomber? No. Would I object to my money being used to promote terrorism? You bet.

Devil got into that organization!!!! Now it's time for decent girls to get out.
