Ooops...sorry...just noticed that the poster was not the author. Hopefully, however, my message will reach the dad.
Powerful. This man lives in the same town as Cindy Sheehan.....what different views.
JimRob, What you said I'm in full agreement with! There's only one word for it...
TREASON!!!! What I can't understand is how they can get by with it this long?
Oh, I get it.....They're just expressing themselves, Right?
It just about breaks my heart every time that I learn of another loss of one of our Troops in this affair.
I am now counting the days until my own son returns from his second "combat" tour over in Iraq.
Each day is difficult, and everyday I somehow find a new reason to despise those in certain political offices and in the media who prove that they are in truth nothing more than subversive. That or they are so completely consumed in themselves and their personal glory that they say and act in ways which puts our Troops including my son in potential greater harm's way.
These politicians and members of the media are an absolute disgrace, as they regularly give succor and encouragement to those who who would kill us all without a second thought if they indeed could.
Vermin, all of them.
Well said, and amen.
Words can never express how thankful I am for the sacrifice made by your son for me and my family. My heart goes out to you and your family and I pray God may bless you and give you peace.
Your son is an American hero, who along with thousands of other brave Americans, will never be forgotten by me or my family.
God Bless America
May God bless his family, that they know millions of people love their son, and are forever in his debt.

Rest in the peace of the Lord.

Couldn't agree more.
To: Joseph Williams
As a father with a young son, I cannot imagine the pain you must have felt.
I pray for your peace of mind, and thank you sir for your sacrifice.
Exactly right. Please be comforted that there are many people who will not allow that to happen. Prayers for you and your son. We all owe you a debt that cannot be repaid.
"I know from bitter experience."
"I am a Vietnam veteran."
Please also be comforted in knowing there are many who still remember and are deeply grateful for the sacrifices of the Vietnam vets and have not forgotten how badly they were treated.
Thank you both for your extraordinary sacrifices.

Thank you also for your 37.5 years of service. We salute you!
Mr. Williams,
Your story reminded me of Abraham Clark, one of the Founding Fathers who lost two sons in the Revolutionary War. Briefly, here is his story (from an article written by Rush Limbaugh's dad, THE MEN WHO RISKED EVERYTHING).
"And, finally, there is the New Jersey signer, Abraham Clark. He gave two sons to the officer corps in the Revolutionary Army. They were captured and sent to the infamous British prison hulk afloat in New York harbor known as the hell ship "Jersey," where 11,000 American captives were to die. The younger Clarks were treated with a special brutality because of their father. One was put in solitary and given no food. With the end almost in sight, with the war almost won, no one could have blamed Abraham Clark for acceding to the British request when they offered him his sons' lives if he would recant and come out for the King and parliament. The utter despair in this man's heart, the anguish in his very soul, must reach out to each one of us down through 200 years with his answer: "No."
Thanks for this post, Jim. It's deeply appreciated on this end.

To fallen soldiers let us sing
Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the Mansions of the Lord.
No more bleeding, no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
Just divine embrace, eternal light
In the Mansions of the Lord.
Where no mothers cry and no children weep
We will stand and guard though the angels sleep
Through the ages safely keep
The Mansions of the Lord.
