Yeah, I caught up later on in the thread. I actually listened to the speech live via Rush, then came back to FR and didn't realize how many hundreds of posts I was behind. Regards

You think what I said is a leftist talking point????

OMG.

"I'm terribly sorry you think it's whining that I'm not happy that the administration hasn't decided it was important to make sure the troops knew they weren't dying for a lie, as the left loves to say.

I'll try to be happy the next time I hear Ted Kennedy et al tell lies about the administration and re-write history and no one from the administration defends his attacks."

Ugh - I must have missed it but what part of that quoted section sounds like a leftist talking point?

ONE. He's given ONE great speech.

Stop trying to rewrite history, Hildy. President George W. Bush has given several truly momentous speeches. His first inaugural address is one of the most beautiful ever, hauntingly prophetic given what happened just 7 1/2 months after he gave it.

GWB's speech in the National Cathedral and his speech to the Joint Session of Congress after 9/11/01, as well has his address to the United Nations the following year, are among the most important -- and well delivered -- speeches ever given by an American president.

And then when we aren't HAPPY that the lies are permitted to stand, we get called trolls. LOL

And when we call pessimists for their mistakes, exaggerations, or even lies, we get called Bushbots. Such is life.

What a stupid, idiotic, classless, lousy and baseless thing to say.

Hope you feel good about yourself, Eagles. Good thing the President has more dignity than you'll ever dream of having.

You should have waited just for few more minutes before you had made this "Prediction".

The White House press corps is going to be out for blood tomorrow.

And bless his heart, this is the sentry at the gate.

The best speeches I've ever heard in my lifetime. Even the leftist media was reduced to calling them Churchillian.

Great Speech by the president. It was a great pick me up on a sad day for me. My dad passed on back in mid July. Veterans Day was very important to him and our family. He and most of my uncles served in WW2 or Korea. My dad was in the Navy and served in the South Pacific. I have a picture on my desk of my dad and my uncle riding on a float in the Veteran's Day parade last year. He's got a big grin on his face and he's wearing his Navy cap. You can see how proud he is to be there. Everytime I have looked at that picture this morning I start to get choked up.
It bothered my Dad terribly to hear the leftists rip on the war in Iraq. He knew how important it was and he thought that you couldnt support the troops without supporting the job that they were doing. It sure lifted my spirits to hear GWB fight back. I hope my old man was listening.

It'd be nice if he told them "by the way when the President said critics he was including you jackals."

Do you ever get a bad case of MSM, DU, Huffpost and DailyKos diahhrea?

Well, here's the cure. Listen to Rush, read FreeRepublic, Michelle Malkin, LGF and watch FNC.

BTW, I would vote for Michelle Malkin for president.

Good speech. VERY honest. Calling the Rats "irresponsible" for rewriting the history of how the Iraq war began and denying their support of it.

Quoted Kerry. Good stuff.

"Why did it take so long for the president to address them?"

Peach, I think one of the reasons for the slow reaction is that conservatives, like the Founding Fathers, believe that there are self-evident truths. We've had a tendency to believe that eventually the truth will speak for itself loudly enough for the libs to "get it." We are finally waking up to the fact they they have shut their eyes and ears to truth and that they have repeated their own lies so often that those lies are their only truth and the utopian fantasyland is all they can see.

I had to laugh when I visited DU yesterday and noted that they have decided to start a research unit, when actually, all they would have to do is lurk over here and take advantage of our ardent fact-checkers. :)

I must be missing something here. I've been called a troll because I'm unhappy the Republicans and this president have permitted the lies to stand for so long.

I've read the entire thread and haven't seen anyone called a Bushbot. I must be missing some point.

This was a great start to fighting back. Now I expect OTHER REPUBLICANS to stand up and speak just as loudly and even more forcefully (they can afford to) in this fight to take the issues back. It can be done easily. The public hasn't run across the line to the democrats side. They mostly have turned their backs on the Republicans and are standing on the line for the time being.

I agree. I do not understand how people can overlook the lyrical beauty of President Bush's speeches. Okay, not all of them, but the ones that count; they stir me and inspire me, and NO speeches by a President in my lifetime have ever done that (Full disclosure: while I loved Reagan, even his speeches never struck the same chord with me as this President's speeches do).

Those little "truth detectors" over at DU said the other day that Gen. Vallesly (Sp?) and Joe Wilson were never in the FNC studio at the same time and then within seconds, lo and behold, freepers found something like 8 times when those two guys were in the studio at the same time.

DU needs a LOT of help with research. And freepers were happy to help out :-)
