The process is working whereby no longer is the Media the keeper of the records.
Now, we citizens can keep track of what is said, who said it, and when they said it.
And we will be able to keep the politicians honest.
Eventually, the news media will have to starting reporting honestly -- or they will lose their industry altogether.
I'm terribly sorry you think it's whining that I'm not happy that the administration hasn't decided it was important to make sure the troops knew they weren't dying for a lie, as the left loves to say.
I'll try to be happy the next time I hear Ted Kennedy et al tell lies about the administration and re-write history and no one from the administration defends his attacks.
The MSM is going to launch an all out counter attack tonight.
They already started on CNN.
yep, that's who I was thinking of.
Ari was a great press secetary!
The new guy seems limp to me...
Right on.
Good speech, but he should have hit them harder. He certainly needs to hit them more often. Enough with the rope a dope.
If I hear Ted Kennedy et al lie one more time about the war, WMD, etc., and no one condemns him from our side of the aisle, I may just go out of my mind.
Why is it that a housewife at her computer can find the lies and defend the administration better than the Republicans?
Thank you for saying that. I remember well the criticism that Reagan suffered AND how he handled it. In fact, I remember how much criticism Reagan suffered when he was Gov. He seemed to come out of it pretty well. :-)
I missed the speech itself. Is it available someplace on this thread?
In a little bit of a defense -- the Media KNOWS the truth. The Democrats KNOW the truth. It is simply UNFATHOMABLE that the Democrat leadership would boldly and blatantly lie about stuff, and that the Media, rather than correcting them, would let them get away with it.
Look, even those of us who know the media is biased don't expect them to ignore the truth or let politicians get away with lies.
But, better late than never, the President is learning that the media is in a mode where, RATHER than actually do fact-checking, they just report he-said/she-said stuff. So it is up to us to do the media job, and to make vocal and clear attacks on the democrats, to give the media something to cover.
"Look, a year ago this would have been painted as nothing but campaign rhetoric. For goodness sake, now that he has made a good speech, are you going to gripe about the timing? Can't you be happy and relieved that he did what you have been griping about for months? PLEASE try to have some optimism."
The MSM is angry because they're among the critics he attacked today.
Ok.. I figured that out. My mistake.
Just a little hyper today.
I agree. Finally a speech with pizzaz and fervor, plus hitting back at the DemonRATS. He needs to do something similar every 2 weeks. PLUS the cowardly RAT B@$t@#d Republican Senators & Congressman (including the RINO Repukes) need to start standing up to the DemonRATS and the left-wing MSM and going on the offensive against them every time they open their mouths.
While clicking the TV this morning, I stopped for 30 seconds on CNN Headline news ...and wow, WHAT a shock.
Within those 30 seconds, they managed to cram in 4, count em, FOUR totally anti-Bush stories, including "Republican election losses", economy in peril, Iraq war in quagmire, and I cant remember the fourth.
Not having watched CNN (or any network for several years), I just stood there with my mouth opened in befuddlement of how corrupt the mainstream media has really become.
I only get news from the Internet, occasionally Brit Hume's Fox News program, and talk radio.
No wonder polls are trending down if this CNN bullcrap is any indication of the news these days.
'Cause you're not worried about losing your cushy job by not appearing "collegial". :)
Because the MSM will now say he's even weaker because he's been reduced to defending himself from his critics. He can't win either way it seems.
What is needed IMO, is the REPUBLICANS to come out and state over and over and over what the Pres has said. Frist, Hastert, McCain, (maybe that's expecting too much!), Sessions, etc etc.
Yeah, I am too honest. If I ran for President I'd probably get shot.
