all government offices are closed today, so many are at home (if not at the mall) but this will get lots of coverage over the coming days ... about damned time!

I have been very emotional lately with Christmas coming up. Our second one without Jan. Plus I got a wonderful card from my niece whose son shot himself last month.
This is a wonderful speech and I wonder why so many are being so critical of it.

The great day will be when they stop backing down when the democrats whine about their patriotism and say if you're a patriot support the country once in your miserable life. Dissent only goes so far Ivan.

I couldn't agree with you more, but the RNC doesn't seem to have enough guts to do it. If I had the money such a Soros, I would keep some networks in business.

So, all you earlier gloom and doomers on the thread. How do you want your crow??
Baked, basted or fricaseed?

To: r9etb
Disagree.
I've followed this President for years. I'm aware of the strategy to give Dems rope.
The last few months he has not been the man I've known, however, and this has not been result of strategy. His Cowboy spirit and confidence was MIA. It's back now, and not too soon. he needs to keep it prominent now.

He should be giving this speech in prime time. Let the networks wait.

Reagan used this same technique of never mentioning the opposition by name, never mentioning them at all if he could help it.Thank you. That's what I thought.

Excellent. Made my day much better.
I hope Tony Snow is listening. He didn't think this speech should be given on Veterns Day.
