He needs to take on the democrats and the MSM specifically. I don't think he's gonna.
You know, the words sound good. The speechwriter did a fine job. Documenting the beheadings, constantly pointing out how the terrorist don't want anyone else to have power save themselves.
It's just that, well, Dubya, he doesn't have a "conversational" tone. I don't know that this is a talent but I can tell you WHO has a conversational tone. It'll make you mad.
Biden has a very conversational tone. Of course everything he says is either nonsense or plagiarized. But sometimes I close my eyes and pretend I'm just an ordinary soccer mom who happens to hear whatever the hell Joe is saying. And I think..."I wish Bush could speak like that".
Or Newt Gingrich. Or Dick Cheney. All of them speak very well. Bush sounds like he's saying words and emphasizing what he THINKS should be emphasized. I don't know. It's a special something I guess maybe you're born with. For sure there's been plenty of Presidents who weren't good speakers. Nixon comes to mind. Ford.
Just my two and a half cents.

Rush is carrying the speech, which gives the President a bigger audience than what he would get during prime time.

I agree 100%. Maybe when "Commander in Chief" is on. Now wouldn't THAT be funny...pre-empt the fake CinC for the REAL one. The question is, would ABC do it? (maybe in the Red states)

You're right...he just cannot communicate well...Let's face it, he never could. But where are our Carville's, our Begalas, every night sticking up for our President and showing the left's lies? WHERE ARE THEY? I think the administration thinks talk radio does the job, and they do, for the most part..but we need our people on the mainstream, because that's where the middleman goes to get his news.

Rush is jipping the speech. Live thread linked
herefor those interested.
The push back against anti-war traitors is coming up in about three minutes, per Rush.

Bush has done it the past 3 years plus 2000.
%%%%%
Which means that he did not do it in 2001. I wonder if Vice-president Chaney did it that year, ie 4 years ago? Hmm. I detect a pattern.

You mean that isn't what he meant by exposing the Global Leaders?

This is an excellent speech. Anyone not watching it or listening that is able should start now.
This is the President Bush we've been missing, and the speech is not recycled. It's detailed, passionate and direct.

Freepers do a better job defending the administration and its policies than the administration itself or the Republicans in Congress.

I'm not ducking my head and I'm not shamed, I'm disappointed.
The man could be so much better, but he's stuck on trying to make nice to everyone.
Why should I listen to another speech covering the same ground and not exposing the lefts lies.

Don't count on it.
As I said on another thread, his strategy has been that of a stupid boxer that plans on a 10th round knockout of a 12-round fight. The fight has already set its course by now and he has neither the time nor the power to change it.
He should have changed his strategy after he courted Teddy the Drowner and got stabbed in the back.

You do know that we're in the November sweeps and the networks won't preempt their programming for a Republican president.
They would if a President used the bully pulpit. The President has the clout, but he has to use it.

It's an excellent speech. Better delivered than most this year.
But we got our hopes us when we heard the president was going to take on the lies of the left.
It MUST be done. For our troops risking their lives. For Republicans who fought hard to put this man in office. Why is he letting the lies of the left stand?
