That is my prayer. It was a sad day for Dallas when the Dallas Times Herald folded (about 1985, I think). They were a better paper and at least we had some competition.

The News has the same old tired DC reporters who've been there for years. I can just see them lunching with NYTimes reporters and meeting for drinks with the Wash. Post people.

I really, really want to cancel my subscription but I can't. Domestic Partner has to have the paper--they have a good sports section (and I do like the NY Times Crossword and cryptograms.

What she has said is that the media always does this sort of thing. They've presented stories in the past without authenticating them, so why should she be punished? In other words, she feels she's been discriminated against because she got caught.

This is a lesson for all of us, the media may have done this before, who knows how many times.

Her hidden assumptions are that blogs can make up any garbage they want, then will rave about it en masse, and that in turn can drive television network policy.

Anyone who has been around here for any time at all knows that garbage is quickly demonstrated to be garbage, that Freepers have only been mobilized when the case is convincing, and that networks are very difficult to influence even if all the facts are on our side.

She is used to working in an environment where her irrational beliefs rule.

I see a good future for her as a minister in a Gaia or Crystal Cult on a California beach.

There was very little content in this interview, but her arrogance and gross ignorance were demonstrated.

Here's a scary thought--she was the second most important person (behind Rather) at CBS News. She would have been in the bottom of my class in second grade. I'm talking about her all growed up while I was still in second freaking grade.

What is alarming is the mentality of a former major player at CBS. Their critics must prove negatives, prove it is not real.
