What the year is is not the issue.

It's about whether or not they believe it.

They believe and adjusted the dates for their own archaeological reasons.

I don't necessarily believe they are right or wrong about what year it is. It's just that they think that they have a better standard.

Since that's their perspective, they use BCE and CE.
