Weldon and Shaffer attorney Mark Zaid both said the DIA recently returned Shaffer's personal effects from his office but mistakenly included several classified documents and another employee's mail. Weldon was previously trying to make this seem like something sinister but is now acknowledging that it was a mistake.
To: wideminded
Anyone who handles classified documents knows that it is MORE than a mistake especially when 5 or 6 classified documents make it in a box? I asked my husband about handling classified material (he should know) and there are guidelines that you must following in doing so. Either it was a set-up or DIA folks are incompetent. The pencils placed in the box was an in your face statement without a doubt. The GPS tracking device (to me) was a statement you are being watched.

The GPS tracking device (to me) was a statement you are being watched. It probably wasn't a tracking device, just a standard GPS device to find your own position. It may have been contained in the mail he was sent or accidentally thrown together with his personal effects because it had been sitting on his desk. The idea of a message seems (to me) paranoid. If they had accidentally sent him a compass you wouldn't be reading anything into it. The whole thing about the mail doesn't seem to me one of the stronger parts of Weldon's case.
I do agree though that people in the Pentagon don't want Shaffer to speak out to Congress.

Thanks for the ping!
Go Weldon!
To: wideminded
Weldon said, Shaffer told him the GPS device did not belong to him, nor did the pencils, mail that wasn't even addressed to him but to someone else, then there is the classified documents. Since the prior pencil stealing was used to take away his clearance that was the "ha in your face". I do believe these items where a form of intimidation.

Yep, Deiter Snell.

"Personally I prefer a criminal investigation versus some watered down Congressional/Commission styled hearing." I'm not sure how best to go about it legally, but whatever venue gets this story out with all the players named and the appropriate people discredited would be best. Especially if it ends with criminal prosecution. Just like with Rathergate, it has to become such a huge story that the MSM is unable to ignore it any longer. Considering the administration most responsible, the MSM isn't going to cooperate willingly.

The victims of 9/11 are crying out for justice, and this gentleman Curt Weldon is the lone prophet in the wilderness.
God gets behind and supports those who seek and thirst for righteousness and justice.
This man needs our prayers.

The story is out there, some people are asleep, others don't care, and still others will do whatever it takes to protect themselves from accountability.
Sadly this is a story that can be used to inflict more harm upon those serving to protect US, as we witness now with the "torture" amendment by McCain. That leaked "black prisons" would also fit the mold of causing harm to our own.
I do not expect the developers/harvesters of the intel for political purposes instead of national security purposes to come forth and explain themselves.
We have a perfect study case of liberals in action, with this war against terrorists being fought in Iraq. They in 1998 were the promoters of presenting an evil Saddam, and allllll his WMD's, yet today they claim they were lied to, alllll based upon a well planned and placed forgeries. Further we have a leaked memo laying out the liberal's road map as to the method they planned to save Saddam, win an election (JFKerry) and destroy a President. I have no doubt that "Able Danger" fits their profile as another means to pull another trigger for another investigation to in their minds finish what they started when algore lost that 2000 election.
Imagine Hillry harvesting the benefits of discrediting our military.
