Very people here know what "the facts" are, since nearly everything discussed here is based on information that is provided to us by someone else and is often tainted by bias, manipulation, etc.

My point was that the Kurds were brutalized by Saddam Hussein. That's not disputed.

They've wanted help from the United States and the United Kingdom.

The U.S. and UK have felt deeply sympathetic towards the plight of the Kurds.\

The Kurds were grateful the Coalition took out Saddam and have treated Coalition Forces very warmly.

I think those essential points are pretty indisputable.

Now... what happens from here, and what anyone's 'agenda' might be, well that's open to debate.

I already read O'Dwyers PR say the purpose of these ads were to reclaim the oilfields of Kirkuk for the Kurds. I am not sure how these ads do that or where they get that from.

But that's what people will do - they'll come up with their own theories about people's underlying motivations. You've come up with your own. You might even be right.

For now, though, my emphasis is on those points above. The Kurds have wanted to be like "us" - that's a difference in attitude from the Kuwaitis who while certainly glad at the time that we got Saddam out, didn't seem to be that in love with the West and what we believed in (the underpinings of our socieites) or cherished.
