The minior notification is wining by very pedestrian margins in the today vote in hyper conservative Sierra counties. That is not a good sign. Pray for the Hispanics.

I looked at the map, it doesn't get overwhelming support anywhere. It actually leaves me speechless. Adios.

Pray for the Hispanics.

It does seem to be working out that way. Look at Tulare, as compared to Modoc.

Kinda surprising in a way that it's not doing better in the red counties, because this seems like such a no-brainer.

It really is remarkable how that no brainer of a ballot initiative is so controversial and relatively close.

While Cali is a sideshow, of course, it does shoe how far behind the pro life movement is in heavily populated states/urban areas.

The issue is not whether those areas think abortions should be legal or not (crystal clearly, these folks have no major problem with abortions). The issue is whether a minor can get an abortion (surgery, after all) without her parents knowing. Given that a minor can't go on a class trip or get a cavity filled without parental permission, this mindset is just psychotic.

It is, nonetheless, real.

The battle lines on abortion in many regions of the country are clearly not where the pro life movement wants them to be, especially given this shocking close race in our biggest state. At this point in the evening, I wouldn't be shocked it it even loses (somehow).
