Latest polls show Hendix at 56% and Kwami at 44%

An hour ago they were dead even ... hope this grows even further apart.

I seem to remember something happening that had to do with exit polls about a year ago.

I know nothing about this race. Kwame Kilpatrick versus Freeman Hendrix sounds like trying to pick Mulsims over French. Can you help me here?

Huh?  The Detroit News is now claiming the race is: Neck and Neck:    Detroit mayoral race too close to call; turnout heavy.

And this is the latest update.

It is now 2:21 AM and, amazingly, Kilpatrick is poised to win. I don't know about irregularities but, if this vote reflects the true will of Detroiters, they deserve all of the mess they are now in and that which will only get worse in the future. New Orleans without the levees IMO.

It is unknown what effect numerous charges of voter fraud in Detroit will have on the final results

Well, it's known now: Kwame came from waaay behind to win 53% - 47%.

DETROIT -- A judge ruled Friday afternoon [Nov 4]that City Clerk Jackie Currie would be replaced as head of Detroit's absentee voter program.

Detroit's 300,000 vote margin for Kerry in 2004 overcame the 170,000 vote margin for Bush in the rest of the state and delivered Michigan to the Democrats. Now a judge has ordered the same city clerk who was in charge then to be removed from the absentee voter program because of substantiated fraud.
