WJR Radio has just broadcast that exit pole results for the Detroit mayoral race give the challenger Freeman Hendrix a 4 point victory over Kwame Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick would be the first Detroit incumbent mayor since 1961 to be voted out of office.
Kilpartick is in his first term.
It is unknown what effect numerous charges of voter fraud in Detroit will have on the final results.

DETROIT -- A judge ruled Friday afternoon [Nov 4]that City Clerk Jackie Currie would be replaced as head of Detroit's absentee voter program. Detroit's 300,000 vote margin for Kerry in 2004 overcame the 170,000 vote margin for Bush in the rest of the state and delivered Michigan to the Democrats. Now a judge has ordered the same city clerk who was in charge then to be removed from the absentee voter program because of substantiated fraud.

Unless the Downtown, Midtown, Corktown, Indian Village, and Warrendale/Copper Corner sections of Detroit ALL reported first, I'm calling BS on Kwame's "comeback victory"

It is not he who votes that matters, it is he who counts the votes that matter.

Sorry, the "new mayor" is just the old mayor minus the earring. The only good thing to come out of this election is the defeat of Jackie Currie, the queen of voter fraud.

If it burned to the ground, the only things I would miss are Greektown, the Fox and Corktown. Those idiots deserve everything they get and then some.

Along with what you mentioned, I would miss the Coney Island restaurants on Lafayette as too! I love it when the restaurant guys get out on the street to compete for customers. There is nothing as good as a DETROIT coney island hotdog with extra chili and onions. Too bad the good stuff surrounded by such blight and corruption. It's such an embarassment and very disapointing to see the citizens of Detroit make yet another mistake in picking a mayor.

Hey,
This may just come true. If you check out freep.com and see what’s going on with our illustrious Mayor today this could become a reality. Seems he has a Slick Willy problem with lying under oath. Only problem is his lie cost the city $9 million in damages.
