MD4BUSH Asked To Come Forward
WBAL - TV (Baltimore, MD) ^ | November 7, 2005

Posted on 11/07/2005 5:20:04 PM PST by tgslTakoma

BALTIMORE -- For the first time, the operators of a California-based Web site are revealing they have evidence that an e-mail address from the Maryland Democratic State Party is associated with MD4BUSH.

WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team reporter David Collins said the operators of FreeRepublic.com are not revealing the name behind MD4BUSH. But this is the first time that they are suggesting the state democratic party is associated with the MD4BUSH account on their Web site.

Jim Robinson, the president of the conservative Web site, issued the following statement: "Free Republic has evidence that an mddems.org (Maryland Democratic Party) e-mail address is associated with the MD4BUSH account. This is not just coincidence."

They also call on the account holder to come clean.

Free Republic has the electronic trail associated with the saga of MD4BUSH.

(SNIP)

Last week, the name of Ryan O'Doherty, a former official with the state Democratic Party who left that job in January, surfaced publicly in connection with the MD4BUSH mystery. That happened when the governor's lawyer forwarded an e-mail with O'Doherty's name on it to the committee investigating the governor's firing practices.

(SNIP)

The I-Team caught up with O'Doherty outside the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, where's he's held a newly created job for the past nine months. The agency is publicly funded, with close ties to the mayor and county executives.

O'Doherty is a friend of Steve Kearney, one of the mayor's top aides. Sources said Kearney first tried to get O'Doherty hired in City Hall. Kearney told 11News he couldn't remember if he provided any help.

Collins reported in response to Free Republic's disclosure, Josh White, the executive director of the state Democratic Party, said how could anyone take the word of a right-wing Website that wants nothing more than to help the governor.

In other words, he's not denying it.

My hair is starting to hurt following this. I thought MD4BUSH was a Duncan operative in the Dem party trying to smear O'Malley. But he gets a job with the O'Malley posse?

Can't remember. Hm.

Josh, my dear, this is a Republican website that is generally furious with lies and dirty tricks by anyone. I hope you get your head handed to you.

LOL!!!

I've always thought it was an O'Malley operative trying to hurt Ehrlich and Duncan by making it look like it was one or the other trying to use the other to smear O'Malley.

but what do I know?

[Josh White, the executive director of the state Democratic Party, said how could anyone take the word of a right-wing Website that wants nothing more than to help the governor.****Does that same sentiment apply to the New York Times (or CBS) and the President?]

. . .not to mention the 'state Democratic Party'. . .I mean just what is their purpose and goals?

Surely not to get Republicans elected. . .and of course the very Demrat Party whose ends. . .can justify - by any means possible.

How stupid!

We never knew for sure. That was just one of many theories.

Remember, Mayor O'Malley stuck his foot in his mouth at the National Press Club on February 8, equating President Bush's budget cuts to 9/11. The MD4Bush story came out the next day, wiping O'Malley's gaffe (which was even reported here in NY, IIRC) off the front page of the Baltimore and Washington papers. The Washington Post relegated the gaffe story to page A5.

Don't be so hasty to dismiss, those damn "Freepers" helped expose Dan Rather, you're small potatoes Collins and White.

A Google search for Steve involved in Maryland Democrat politics shows a Steve Kearney, who was Mayor O'Malley's spokesman in February 2005, and a Steve Jost, who is currently listed as a Maryland Democratic Party staffer on mddems.org. A Steve Jost is also listed as Congressman Ruppersberger's (D-MD) Chief of Staff.

There's no proof (yet) that either Steve is the Steve referred to in the e-mail purportedly from Ryan O'Doherty.

rdoherty@mddems.org has been wiped. It's still there if you use the Internet Wayback Machine.

Do you suppose when MD4Bush created his profile, he associated his screen name with his mddems.org email address?

As a side note, mddems.org is supporting Kweisi Mfume for Senate!!! Unbelievable.
