"Nov. 5: Residents hold a silent march in protest of the riots in Aulnay-sous-Bois."
A silent march? That's the whole problem. The French not only have been silent to muslim extremism, but in a post-September 11 world, STILL remain silent (as the photo below sadly illustrates). It's time to take back your country, folks -- not be mum about the increasing, spreading violence. Unfreakingbelievable.

That picture is scary. Reminds me a little of the crowds when the Nazis marched in. Different faces, color instead of black and white, but similar mood.

Screw the silent march, a poignant charge with bayonets will do much much more.

Frances silent protest is the problem, not the answer.

Its going to take a lot more than a "silent march" if the French hope to regain their country.
I haven't read much about these protests (just started with this thread and will go back to crosslinks afterwards) but can you answer this question (it may have already been posted)?
Is there a specific meaning to torching cars? The few newsphotos I've seen so far seem to be burned out shells of cars. Are they destroying any other type of property?
Please pardon me if this has already been covered; I'm just now jumping into the Paris/France Protest threads.
TIA!
