Anyone else wonder if that whole Miers thing wasn't "laying smoke" for what may turn into the mother of all battles with the 'Rats...as well as a flanking maneuver on the right-wingers to make sure they're with the program???

Good thinking! Could be. I was thinking the same thing this morning when I decided to go over to the dark side(DU) to see what they were saying.,,,,,Yeeks!!! They were saying the VERY same thing .....that this whole thing was a'' vast right wing conspiracy'' from the very beginning. Aided and created by no other than ''the architect ''Karl Rove''. No kidding !They are saying, that the Bush administration KNEW this indictment was coming down on Friday and stuck Harriet in there to essentially create a cover or diversion for the REAL nominee who was Alito all along and also to divert attention from the indictment.......Thats when I logged off. When I start thinking like those guys I know I'm starting to lose it big time! Scary!

No. Miers did real damage to everyone involved. No brilliant master plan there...

I am thinking the same thing--what with Harriet's withdrawal coming at such an opportune time...but the genius will be that we'll never ever know. :)

You might be on to something, as Friday's news sure did not make the splash the lying corrupt liberals had hoped for, and wow, not even that tea sipping super sleuth of the century got much tube face time.

Anyone else wonder if that whole Miers thing wasn't "laying smoke" for what may turn into the mother of all battles with the 'Rats...Misunderestimated again? Its' that Famous "Right Jab/Left Hook" combination again, from the Gulf War I.
"Thumbnail" Definition of Stupid: Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.
...kinda like the African American Voters voting for the 'Rats' political candidates (basing their votes on unrealized promises made) and expecting a different outcome, not realizing they're on "a Liberal Plantation" :(
...or GOP taking some Voters' beliefs for granted...until recently...(hope...I don't get banned.) Thanks, JimRob :D

Yup. It was too convenient. The Miers nomination smoked out the RATS which fired up the Right.
Watch now for the DNC talking point that Miers did not get a fair up or down vote. Doesn't matter that she never made it into committee.

No... conservatives would have wholeheartedly supported the Alito nomination regardless of the foregoing circumstances.
