Amazing how LITTLE has been said in MSM about his GENDER!

I brought it up at post #21 - it'll take the DEMs a little while to whip up the talking points.

Perhaps Alito didn't want the job initially, but after seeing the firestorm around Miers, he came around.

It's really pathetic how the Legacy MediaTM continually frame this issue as, "Miers wasn't conservative enough." This spin it entirely deliberate and dishonest of them.

Memo #2517 to the LM:

The complaint from conservatives was that Miers wasn't qualified to be a SCOTUS justice! She was plenty conservative, but not qualified.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled leftist propaganda.

On Fox it's already started: "The President has pandered to the most extreme wing of his political party..blah, blah, blah"

The Republicans better start going all out to debunk that crap, if they want to still hold on to power in '06. There's no excuse to sit there and take it, because it's so utterly and damnably false.

Senators Schumer & Reid are trying to set a lunchdate with Justice O'Conner. Don't you know there will be some arm-twisting to get her to postpone her retirement...

Conservatives should NEVER be afraid over a judiciary battle. EVERY POLL taken the past few years has shown that a HUGE majority of the American people belive the court is too liberal and activist and wants it to be more conservative. Liberal polls show that even when they try to rig them. The clear large majority of the American people want conservative Judges on the courts and the SC JUST LIKE ALITO! So this is the battle we need to constantly hope for becuase it is a battle that conservatives will win EVERY time. liberals can't even get 1 of 10 moderates on their side with this, and what's left of their moderate/conservative democrats defect to our side too, and the libs know it. 8) With the addition of Alito, the aclu's life just got MUCH harder and less pleasant. Cases that would have been decided for them now with o'conner, just became MUCH more problematic with Alito in her seat. If I were at the ACLU main office right now, I would think that a collective resounding "Oh S^)&" is still echoing through the halls. 8)

It has crossed my mind several times that the Miers nomination might have been a "head fake."

People will object that Bush would never do such a thing to a friend. That's true; he wouldn't...but...what if Miers was in on the plan?

I think only a very very very small minority in FR (other than the DU trolls) were against Miers just because they hated Bush. Most of us wanted the President to do better.

That was my thinking. Now there's someone to rally behind. I intend to do some letter writing on this one.

I was disappointed in his pick of Miers. I'm pleased with Alito. My support for him remains unchanged through all of it.

I stopped reading there.

That's because you're being dense.

The consitutional requirements of a nominee lie only in ther advice and consent of the Senate. Pee Wee Herman cannot meet this requirement.

The only reason Miers withdrew is because it was becoming apparent, without support of the R Senators, that she was "unqualified" also.

You're right Imus would be a fit on Air America. I take anything Imus says with a grain of salt..it's all schtick, a cover for how little homework he's done on, and how ill informed his personal opinions are. The value of Imus is how he probes his guests. ( I think Bernard provides the questions.) I watch Imus because he gives plenty of airtime to conservatives, and actually lets them finish a sentence.
