Charles publicly stated years ago that he would prefer the title "Defender of Faith" rather than "Defender of THE Faith".

Lecturing the President of the US on Islam is a BAD FIRST MOVE, Charles! Take a lesson from your mother.

Charles considers Christianity inadequate to the task of spiritual restoration and denigrates science for having caused the West to lose its spiritual moorings. Echoing a common Muslim theme, he declares that "Western civilisation has become increasingly acquisitive and exploitive in defiance of our environmental responsibilities." Instead, he praises the "Islamic revival" of the 1980s and portrays Islam as Britain's salvation:"

I think we have found our modern day Neville, folks.

Figures. He seems to consider himself a "spiritual seeker" and I guess any "faith" goes for that type. Come to think of it, he really wouldn't be that far out of line in the average Anglican church.

I'm trying to remember the name of the Islamic movement that Charles is supposedly affiliated with - it's one that has gotten a fair number of aristocratic Brit converts in recent years, and has also been active in Mexico. If it comes to me, I'll post it.
