I think it was "Baal"
I always thought Baal was the god of fertility, and to honor him they would have huge public ogys...I could be wrong...
It was Moloch...It was a large metal image of a cow in which a fire was lit at its belly, the children were sent through an opening in the image's mouth and the child would tumble down the "throat" and be roasted alive in the "belly". This was the God of fertility. It was one of the blasphemies that ancient Israel fell into and was condemned for!
