How do you know what Libby did?
He has not been convicted of anything and the sources of the accusations, one of which is the media deserve some scruntiny don't you think?
To: sinkspur
You might be right, but we don't know either way right now. If he is guilty then this is appropriate.

Agreed. This prosecutor should have made the initial determination whether she was covert or not before doing anything else. If not, he should have dropped it.

I, we, delete things on my computer all the time. Concluding that he was destroying evidence is like saying someone washed their hands, so they must have been bloody.
This is what the dum dums have been waiting for, with tongues hanging out? This is comic opera.

Isn't there software that destroys hard drive data so as to make the contents unrecoverable? If Libby had really wiped his HD as opposed to just deleting the contents, he'd be a free man today. Oh well.

This might allow indictments of the Clintons.
They can't defend themselves after incriminating Libby for exactly the same thing.
Could he be a sacrificial lamb sacrificed in order to get the Clintons for their crimes.

You must have Faith in Bush that he will Finally go after the Clintons.
If not he is a s Guilty as they are.
To: fooman
I think he should not get more than Clinton got, if guilty. How about that?

They can also trace the time that the hard drive was wiped. If it was after the DOJ's request for documents came down, Libby is toast.
IMO, he was indeed "overcharged," and will plead out to the false statement charge, and maybe do 6 months in jail. No trial.

Get him under oath again and he'll probably change his story. Like all of them. Say one thing to the public then when push comes to shove and their butt's are on the line the real story comes out. Games, all games...

Absolutely!! If convicted he should lose his license to practice law in Arkansas. Exactly. Now you're talking my language. He should get no more than Clinton got, but a crime is a crime.

I'm pretty amazed that a lawyer as skilled as Libby would do something so dumb. It really doesn't make sense. I thought the same thing. Why take the chance trying to be cute or vague, just tell the truth. Or the old standby of "I'm sorry, I don't recall"
