He lied to the GJ for whatever reason would get him -- dumb move and why would he protect Cooper and Miller? More to the point why would he protect Miller and put himself in jeopardy?

An affair is the only reasonable answer. I read that Miller has denied that though.
For the life of me I can't figure out how a high powered lawyer like Libby could think he could get away with "allegedly" lying to a grand jury. I could understand - not condone - the reason being that Libby, a married man with children, was trying to hide the affair.
Either he fight the charges or try to plead it away. Right now I am on the side of pleading to make it go away. He can retire and write a book.
