And now a question that's been bothering me for quite some time. Why would the CIA bureaucracy, obviously "outraged" at the "outing" of one of their "classified" employees, send that employees husband on a politically charged "covert" mission to Niger if they were so damned concerned about his wife being exposed to the press?

Why no non-disclosure statement? Why not use an official in place that was actually associated with Niger? Why consider a professional wife of an actual U.S. Ambassador covert - she'd be outed as soon as anyone looked at him, much less her.

I *think* you can ignore the exact details of how he found out who she was (her exact name, etc.). That's not at issue in the indictments. He was told by multiple official sources in June 2003 that Wilson's wife worked in the CIA.

The whole key to this thing is what he told the FBI and the GJ. He told the FBI that he was surprised by Russert asking about Wilson's wife. Surprised in that he, Libby, did not know she worked for the CIA. Apparently, Russert never asked about Wilson's wife.

I still haven't figured out why the VP hired any attorney that was involved with Rich -- that made me uneasy from day one about Libby. I never figured out why he hired serpent head's wife either.
