LOL that's the media's Pipe dreams. They want the whole administration in jail. Its all revenge for the Clinton Impeachment and nothing more.

What happened to Russert? He used to be fairly non-partisan.

Did you know him as a baby or something?

Tim Russert on Imus saying that if there is a trial....the reasons for the Iraq war will be the subject and on trial for 6 to 8 months. What an @ss he is.

You can just hear "DEFEAT" in Russerts voice - This is so funny! - You can literally hear "defeat" in the man's voice.

Just the latest in a line of foolish, baseless attacks that have "failed" to bring down GWB -

GWB meanwhile continues to LEAD. And the MSM know it!

Exactly...unless the Grand Jury ALREADY decided something, and they need to meet for some process reason. But your point is made...the media was taken by surprise that the SP would make a statement BEFORE going into the GJ for the last time.

The media had said indictments Wednesday. Did not happen, or at least it was not announced as the media said it would be. So they then said that it would be concluded today at this final GJ meeting, but then the SP suddenly announces a "guidance" statement BEFORE said meeting.

The media roller-coaster reporting continues...

Means he hasn't come up with any way to indict Rove, so he's going to keep trying.

Joe Kernan of CNBC says "no one cares about this story".

He's right. This whole thing reminds me of a high school newspaper's coverage of Student Council elections. Outside of the school, nobody cares.

The cost to taxpayers has been great. The cost to those needing attorneys has been great.

My question is this. If Joe Wilson (either on his own or with help) planned his actions specifically for a Rove frog march, can he be held criminally liable for any type of conspiracy?

IOW, if he knowingly lied (ie "my wife is undercover") and those lies cost the government millions of dollars in investigations, can he be held accountable?

Well heck yes, we'd better hear about the 17 UN resolutions that Saddam flaunted for 6-8 months.

Wasn't that a big reason for ousting Sad-man? Trying to bring some validity back to the UN (not that they deserve one iota of validity of course!)

I don't think there will be a trial. I think Libby will delay for a while, and then plead guilty. No trial, no soap opera (as Chris Wallace called it) so Russert won't get his little wish.

And I also believe the President will pardon Libby after the 2006 elections. And I will support it 100%.

"I want to know how and why the NYT got all these leaks."

It's my understanding the witnesses before a GJ are not sworn to secrecy and are free to speak publically after they testify. I could be wrong, but IIRC the witnesses' attorneys are free to do the same. If that's the case, I suspect the references to 'lawyers familiar w the case' are Judy Miller's and/or the NYT's lawyers (or anyone else associated w the Times - didn't Kristof go before the GJ?).

Seems the leaks have been coming out since Judy testified last month.

If Scooter goes to trial, wouldn't he have a lot to say about the "who, what, when, where, why, and how" of the leak? A "Scooter" trial could bring down Plame, Wilson, Miller, etc.

The left is probably hoping for the same scenario, except that they want the trail to lead up. They're hoping Libby will finger Cheney in a trail as demanding the leak as a reprisal, rather than asking Libby to assemble a rebuttal.

Russert, like so many many of his colleagues in the media, has been bought and paid for.

No book deal yet, Fitzgerald needs a new grand jury.

I thought Fitzgerald was waiting for Ronnie Earle's film team to arrive so that the sequel to the Delay movie could be shot. The criminalization of politics by the Dimwit Party. Not surprising given how many of the Dimwits are criminals.

Ummm .. Timmy might not want to get so excited

Because if this goes to trial .. He could be caught up in it also

When Rove finally gets to write about all this BS he will be a very rich man.

And the people who failed in trying to destroy him will still be bitter little crapheads.

Is it your contention that Rahman and the embassy bombers should not have been tried and jailed?

If I had my way, they'd be pushing up daisies.

Yes, Russert is very angry on Imus. This is serious he says. Then asks IMus what he would like to see happen today. Imus rants to get all the WH people and take them out with coats over their heads (paraphrase).

Valerie Plame was no more a "covert agent" than my cat!

Careful there. I see a Special Counsel being appointed to investigate your exposure of the covert cat. :-)
