I have no idea, Carolinamom. A federal prosecutor's salary - any guesses?

and apparently, there is no way to stop this second grand jury. this will just go on and on.

It could be that reporters were pressing Scooter for confirmation. He eventually gets his confirmation via Cheney. However, he heard it first from the reporters.
I just can't picture anyone with any sense of security confirming to the press one way or the other, the status of a CIA employee.

By the way, I have always wanted to ask you about your name. Is it short for "lug nut of the soul" or "soul of a lug nut?"

Armitage..huh? Well, I have heard that Colin Powell and Armitage did not go quietly...
Just got back -- had to go out....but, right before I left, I saw a quote on Fox News that said that Sen. Bayh said "this is a sad day in America"....sheesh

That's what I thought I heard, but that cannot possibly be true That would make no sense ... that would mean Fitz thinks Libby should have be truthful to the reporters and outted Plame

If Fitzgerarld did not find anything in the last 2 years what make you think that he is going to find anything now. The doom and gloom that I see from so freeprs is just amazing. The Left was crushed today because they did not get Rove, and that it all what count, not indicting an aide for the Vice President that no on heard of him and indicted on charges not related to the actual case of investigation. Come on guys, relax and cheer up.

Libby didn't even have a criminal defense lawyer advising him. It was an intellectual property lawyer! He is now shopping for a white collar crimes' lawyer.

Congresscritters had better have their own darned hearings into Able Danger, Wilsongate, and while we're at it, let's watch them remind people every time they are interviewed that Hillary lied under oath, repeatedly, and Berger stole national security documents.
But I guess that's not how Republicans play the game anymore. They just roll over and take it on the chin.

No. Because he lied to the GJ and the FBI about his conversations with the reporters.
To: Mo1
I wonder what would happen if Fitz called another GJ and no one paid attention.

When you mentioned Tenet or Powell, for some reason Louis Freeh's name popped into my head. Are there "6 degrees" or less between "Scooter" and Freeh?

Good point. The timing of WHEN Cheney told Libby. It may have been that reporters swarmed Libby, he told them what he has tesified to, then asked Cheney... who told him the CIA info.

It's in the report. She was "classifed" but not "covert".
To: Mo1
All the factual allegations refer to Libby's statements to the FBI and grand jury testimony about his conversations with reporters.
Fitz is alleging Libby lied to the FBI and the grand jury about his conversations with reporters.

Libby may well have lied to a grand jury about his conversations with reporters. And I don't condone that. At all.
However, without documents to back up the reporter's statements, how do we know THEY aren't lying?
