That will be the real news, not this indictment. This is just a media circus side-show. The main event is yet to come.

But Fitz empaneling a new GJ to continue this pursuit of Rove is a travesty. Our justice system was supposed to be designed to disallow the use of it for base political purposes. Placing a case before Grand Jury after Grand Jury until the prosecutor gets the result desired (like Earle in the Delay case) or finding just enough inconsistancy in testimony to charge, really needs to be stopped cold.

Jonathan Turley was correct....that Fitzgerald's MO is to stick witnesses w/a perjury charge when he had no case.

Why protect the VP -- he had a right to access to the info.

Two and two do not add up here.

Levin will break it all down tonight, or maybe he will be on Hannity. Frankly, just reading this thread - I read what he is charged with, but what are the actual perjurious statements? Because his testimony differs from the media accounts, and those media accounts are taken as the basis for fact?

Wendell saying that Fitz planned to indict Rove....

This is the 21st century political scandal.

You investigate a non-crime for 2 years until everyones head is spinning and indict someone because there recollection changed over a 2 year period.

Worse yet, if a conservative says something to this effect, the libs will remind us of Lewinsky..

Page 6 #15 states Wilson said he was sent by CIA. Didn't he say Cheney?

That's naive. We have found and posted here several articles wherein she was mentioned by name.

One was by Walter Pincus.

That was written after she was outed.

The grand jury found that she was indeed covert.

I'm well aware they were chomping at the bit to see Rove in handcuffs however as this plays out Libby is being painted worse than any Clintonista indicted, convicted and jailed. Judge Napolitano said Libby learned the information but lied when he spoke to Russert (not a crime) and then continued lying to FBI (crime) and then under oath to the GJ (major boo boo).

"No one cares whether or not she was covert."

It seems to me that Fitzgerald is drawing a distinction between "covert" and "classified". He's saying that Plame's status was classified. If Plame was covert within the meaning of the statute, a whole bunch of people would have been indicted a long time ago.

Pete Williams on MSNBC said that there is nothing in the 22 page document that mentions anything about the outing of Plame.

We have no idea if he lied or not but if I were President Bush, I would tell the Staff that the next one that leaks to reporters is FIRED! Leaking to NY Times reporters with RAT ties to the Clintons makes me think that Libby shouldn't have been in that position. That was dumb!

No, that was discussing classified information between two people with clearance.

You seem to misunderstand my point. It is not that exchange of classified info between two people with clearance might give rise to charges. My point is that both men had the same information which makes it possible that either one could have "leaked" it to someone without clearance.

I think that's the aim -- baffle us with BS.

All he wanted was an indictment. Feeding frenzy.

No one has ever found where Wilson said he was sent by Cheney. Although an article (written by Pincus?) says he was sent by Cheney and Wilson admitted he vetted that article before it was released.
