What I am reading by Republicans on this thread is ludicrous. You lose a battle and you want to throw out everything because this lady withdrew her name? Give me a break!

Threatening to stay home and not vote or work for good solid conservative candidates plays right into the hands of the RATs. If that is what some of you want to do, fine but count me out.

Our problem today is that not enough people have gotten out to work to elect good conservative candidates preferring to sit behind a computer and moan and grown when they don't get their way. That is not how politics works -- you don't win every battle, you cut your loses and live to fight another day. Shame some of you know so little about politics 101.

The President made a mistake IMHO with this nomination when good Republican Conservative Senators are not happy with her visits to their office. She had the courage to withdraw her nomination because it was going downhill fast, and I admire her for that as should everyone.

To state on this forum you won't support Republicans because the President just "may" have made a mistake, tells me that some of you are too wrapped up in winning instead of what is good for the Country and this President in the long run. You take your loses and live to fight again which is exactly what this President is doing.

Shame on some of you lifelong Republicans that would even dare mention you won't vote for President after what we went through in the last two elections or are you lifelong Republicans. I know what it is like as a teenager to have your candidate for President clobbered in an election, to see Carter beat Ford, and Clinton beat Bush #41 because of too many voters swayed by little big ears and that were mad at Republicans. I am not going to be party to the doom and gloom on here of people that lost a battle throwing in the towel. I will work just as hard if not hard in 2006 as the election here in Oklahoma is extremely important to me. We should in 2004 what the grassroots can do in electing Dr. Tom and I want more like him in the Senate.

This Conservative Republican has supported Pres Bush since 1994 and will continue to do so but that doesn't mean that everything he has done or will do I will agree with. The man surrounds himself with intelligent people so he can get varying opinions about a particular subject. Not every one of them walks in lockstep nor does he expect them to do that.

Now it is time to end this bickering, threats, and ridiculous comments on both sides and get out to work to elect more conservatives to the Senate and House. All politics begins locally and time for some of you to roll up your sleeves and get busy for 2006 and 2008! If you don't, then don't refer to yourselves as loyal Republicans.

Hey............my support for President Bush has not wavered a bit. I don't have to agree with every decision to support a President.........especially one as strong and honorable as this one.

And, for the record, I'm working on the Blackwell campaign here in Ohio because we desperately need a conservative in office here.

But I AM seriously concerned that the right did to Ms Miers the EXACT thing that they condemn when the left does it, and it is giving me pause.

The wounds in the Conservative movement are deep because of this. Vitriol has never been a part of Republican vocabulary before, but now it is. What's going to happen to the next nominee now that the precedent has been set to Bork one of our own?

Whether one was pro/anti/noncommittal on Miers, the stupid flame wars here, need to stop right now!

Anyone, ANYONE, who uses this nomination or withdrawl as an excuse to NOT vote and to NOT get out there and work, in every possible way, to take down the Dems, needs to go join DU. YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM; NOT THE ANSWER!

Waving cheer leading pompoms at you, PKM. :-)
