Remember that we have people on here that would vote for Hillary in the recent Freeper poll. Some of the hotheads on here do not represent conservatives because they are bent on destroying the Republican Party for their 3rd party aspirations. Not going to happen.

Freepers are NOT representative of what I see in the grassroots conservative movement here in OK. We elected Dr. Tom Coburn so I would say that we are one of the more conservative states. We can agree to disagree with the President on something, but we are not going to cut our nose off to spite our face by getting nasty and calling the President or his nominee names. That's childish along with the Freepers who say they are going to leave Republican Party and not support the President. Then we have those that will support the President 100% of the time which I find hard to comprehend. I think a lot of us can agree to disagree on the President's actions without becoming disagreeable. Some of the spin I have seen by both sides is flat out stupid.

This is an internet site and people can say what they want -- how do we know who most of these people are? We don't! We cannot look up most of their voting records because there are only a few of us who people know our real names, etc. That means anyone can say what they want and we don't know if they are spinning or not.

I did not comment on this nomination because frankly I didn't have enough information and wanted to have the Senate Judiciary hearings. Was impressed with the Roberts nomination, but this one did not have the same affect and I wanted to get more information.

IMHO this has NOT split the grassroots -- name calling doesn't work and I have seen it on both sides of this one. Just like the ones going around with "we won, we won" -- IMHO the nominee withdrew in the best interest of this President and the Republican Party. How you handle victory tells a lot about a person -- going around shoving it doesn't say a whole lot for the person. Same with the people on the other side handling defeat while continuing to snipe doesn't solve a thing.

My advice to a lot of Freepers is to GROW UP and quit the sniping both ways. You don't have to agree with the President 100% of the time but when it comes time to be in the trenches, get out and work to elect more conservatives like Dr. Coburn, George Allen, Sam Brownbeck and others instead of sniping about what you don't like. Agreeing with someone 100% of the time even if they are wrong hurts a person's credibility IMHO.

My two cents as someone that has not been involved in these flame wars this time around.

Well said. Pretty much how I see this too.
