One wonders if the "smell of gunpowder" report is correct, or what short of gunpowder the person meant. No burnt or scorch marks found could indicate something like TATP, which doesn't heat up much. You'll note that there were no large marks or lots of smoke involved with the "lone suicide" at the Oct. 1 game either. Just thinking in print.

Explosion Concerns Parentshttp://news.yahoo.com/s/koco/20051026/lo_koco/3019169
Parents near two local schools are abuzz with what was apparently an explosion Monday night.
Police said there was an explosion in a field next to John Griffith Intermediate and Indian Meridian Elementary schools -- and on Tuesday, the ATF and police combed through the field looking for clues.
"We believe that there was an explosion last night," said Choctaw Police Chief Billy Carter. "We don't know how powerful it was until we can obviously determine what size by finding as many pieces of the object as we can and getting it pieced back together."
Police searched both schools before students arrived for classes Tuesday, and said they didn't believe the schools were a target.
However, parents are asking questions.
Police are still trying to piece it all together, looking through the nearby field for what officials indicated might have been a bomb.
"Early this morning it was reported that we did find a little area that was suspicious that may have been some kind of ignition area," Carter said.
Witnesses said they saw a car shortly after the explosion take off from the area. Police are trying to get a positive description of that vehicle.
If you have any information, please call Choctaw police or the sheriff's department.
Police said they believe more than one person was involved.
