Thanks all. I don't how the rest of you are holding up. I only partially slept last night. My first clue that it was a fitful sleep was in the above post when I almost wrote "How many of you have power outages and where are you?". After that I went for a second cup.

They'll keep re-routing until they run out of options.

Looks like she turned a bit east. Haven't seen official yet, but the turn spared Andy Cooper over on Marco Island.

Keeps bouncing back here too. I'm noticing a pattern. Electricity flickers off about 15 seconds before a solid wind gust is heard.

Checking in from Miami Lakes in northwest dade county. Power is out now after going in and out for the last hour. I managed to get a pot of coffee made. Local news is saying we may get some of the worst weather, with the bands around the southern eye wall brushing us.

Dogs are freaked out and I may have to save the computer battery and power down for a while. Mr. Twin2 gave in and put down all the rollodin shutters so we are stuck until the power comes back after the storm.

God speed to all in the path.

The rain has started. Lots of green transformer flashes. I'd say gusts are 60+ now.

It's almost to the southernmost of the 4 tracks in the iage posted earlier. Couldn't ask for any better landfall point given the projections we had for days now. If Marco Island has a chance, this is it.

If I lose power again for good, Godspeed to everyone being impacted by this.

This is probably too late for you to read it, but if not, please know that we'll be thinking about all of you while you're out of power. If there aren't many deaths, the news people will move on to the next story and we won't get much news about you. But just remember we're still thinking about you guys, waiting for you to get back with us.

Oh, and if you still have power and you're interested, go here and print this to read while you're waiting for your electricity to come back on. We can swap stories when you get back online. :-) Stay safe!!

Well all, I'm signing off. After the last surge I figure I'm turning off any faragile components. I'll be back on generator power after the storm but that won't be until after it clears up. Hang in there everyone!

Conditions in Punta Gorda, FL at 6:34 am are fair to partly hurricany, with raging gusts making sleep difficult.
