Still not sure how Milo was defending his people from Islamic Fascists by first attacking Christian Slovenes and Croatians. Well said. But there are some difficulties:
1. The American "Judeo-Christian" movement is completely unknown in Europe. Most Europeans understand themselves as Christians, but they see the Jewish religion as something completely different to their own belief. This has nothing to do with anti-semitism but with diverse interpretation and traditions.
2. If you stick closely to your friend/foe definiton America is forced to declare war to nearly all countries on this planet.
Of course this moron of a judge is unpleasant, but we should not take such things too serious. Nobody in Europe will arrest your soldiers. This idiotic decision is just irrelevant.
Is Spain's constitution set up such that their president can issue a pardon in such cases? That would be the easy political way out for them. The stupid court is encouraged to try them in absentia then their president issues a pardon.
Of course there will be a pardon since the political damage would be really immense to Spain if those GIs would be arrested. This idiotic court desicion is not even in the interest of the socialist gouvernment of Spain. Zapatero knows that very well.

[AKA "Western Civilization"] That is, without the essential Judeo-Christian foundation, every modern attempt at either simulating [EG Asian "tigers" -- (meow)] and/or sustaining [EG: increasingly secular and islamic Europe] civilization has either failed or has ended up with but a poor Xerox copy of Western Civilization -- and/or is doomed to fail.
2) America essentially IS at war with the world. But not because of our misdefinition of the enemy. The world [Around which, having fluency through better-than-working competency and literacy in about a dozen languages, I have travelled for more than 45 years -- and continue to travel] envies and despises America in hesperophobic ways that make much of what the world demonstrates pretty much indistinguishable from collective clinical insanity. Spain is -together with Italy and Poland- the heartland of catholicism. There are no secular (in difference to the rest of continental Europe) or islamic attitudes there. Anyway the widespread populistic view that Europe belongs to the islamic hemisphere is completely ridiculous. Large parts of Europe are secular (i.e. eastern Germany or the big cities like Paris and Berlin) and they reclaim their own way of living. That much is true. But there is for sure no broad movement towards islam. Islam in Europe is limited to muslim immigrants.
The biggest difference to the American point of view about religion is, that Judaism doesn't play a large role in Europe. The links between the Christian churches and the Jewish communities are lean. Therefore there is no "Judeo-Christian" existential orientation in Europe.

Why should America be at war with the rest of the world??! It is wrong that the rest of the world (!) sees America as the dark star (to stick on your image with Hesperus). We Europeans know, that America is our best friend on the side of freedom, but we also know that it is not perfect. Neither are we. You Americans are old enough to stand some critisim. BTW - I do not like socialism either, but the so called "socialistic systems" (in fact they are social democratic) in Europe are based by good and working democratic systems. Therefore even such fierce defenders of free market and capitalism like me have to respect the desicion of our sovereign, the European people.

I would have arrested General Pinochet too since he was a ruthless swine. Standing on the right side doesn't excuse the murdering of innocents. This is not comparable to the case with the GIs.
