A point which is so astute and so true that it should be tattooed (backwards) on the foreheads of all the idealogue wingnuts so they have to read it every time they look in the mirror.

These so-called Republicans only significant contribution to the American political landscape will forever be known as the Clinton presidency. . . that it should be tattooed (backwards) on the foreheads of all the idealogue wingnuts

It's funny you blame conservative for Clinton's victories. Why I thought Bush 41 was running for president not cantankerous freepers. Bush 41 was a lousy president. Perot was a demogogue. Clinton won get over it.

However, you can thank Bill and Hill for Newt and the republican takeover in '94. If Bush 41 had stumbled to reelction in '92 the dems would likely control congress today.

I expect you will be sending thank you notes to us wingnuts for enabling the rise of the republican congress. In the long run sound principles sometimes eventually prevail. Expidiency is brief and not very satifying.

With the conseratives behind him, Reagan gets two landslides. After shafting the conservatives, Read-My-Lips Bush goes down in flames.

Bush II figures this out, and doesn't shaft the conservatives until his second term.

The conservatives significant contribution to the American Political Landscape is Ronald Reagan. T'was Bush I who gave us Clinton.

Maybe rich kids never learn to dance with the one who brought you to the dance.

The Clinton presidency was fine for the country. It brought us control of the house, the economy grew, welfare was reformed, the budget was balanced, etc. The Bush I tax increase was not, and nearly derailed the developing conservative ascendency, caused a recession, threw away 90% public approval, risked a proper wrap up of the cold war, etc. Mistakes by squishes who consider themselves Republicans by birthright but don't know conservative principle from their anatomy, shall be pointed out by those of us who do know them, whenever they occur. Learn it, learn to love it, learn to live it. Or get run over. Conservative principles have won the battle of ideas and are the future of this country, and of the world.
