Well when I heard that Disney had made Reepacheep gay in this film I knew they had screwed up. Oh yeah Aslan is the lion of Islam too. ...............just kidding , but with disney all bets are off in my book, hoping for the best, preparing for the worst................
I think the movie is made by Walden Media, with Disney as the distributor. Walden has made several good clean family-oriented movies like "Because of Winn-Dixie" and my favorite (but flunked in the distribution) "I am David".
I saw the trailer for this film at the last two movies (Sin City and Batman Begins) I actually went out to the theaters to see. Both were packed houses on opening night with mostly young folks in the audience. I was astounded by the screaming, whistling, hooping and hollering that went on in the crowd from start to finish of the trailer. Gave me goosebumps, just sat there wondering "what's the big deal". I think this flick is going to be a hugh success for Disney.
I saw the previews and it looks awesome, didn't look Disneyfied in the least. I predict it will be bigger than the Lord of the Rings.
Disney is only the distributor, the film is being made by an independent studio with an excellent reputation. (Much like the Pixar-Disney relationship, where Pixar has full creative control.) Early looks have shown a strong tendency to be true to the book.
