The Bad News: It's a lousy prize.
He would certainly fit in ideologically and intellectually at the UN, but not morally or in terms of a dedication to fiscal responsibility. Farrakhan has done and said many truly hideous and horrific things, but his Nation of Islam did organize some citizen 'block watch' and street patrol programs in a couple of US cities which I understand were actually rather effective, for a time at least. Contrast that with the UN's record of it's troops openly engaging in rape, blackmail and who knows what else in the way of crimes and we have evidence of a huge moral and ethical divide. Similarly, contrast the UN's numerous fiscal scandals, the Oil For Food scandal being the Mother of Them All, with Farrakhan's management of his organization. If one were to take a close look I have no doubt that discrepancies would be uncovered, but nothing on the scale of what the UN has done.
Farrakhan is definitely an amateur when it comes to the sorts of utterly breathtaking criminality that the UN engages in on a daily basis.
I was at the original million man march. I went there to see what was going on, more a tourist than anything.
This man claims to be Jesus Christ. Where are all the good christian preachers speaking out against him as a false christ or false messiah? Sad when the whole black christian church accepts him as if he was really a messiah.
He is a race-baiter and not really very intelligent. He has no clue about who and what has happened in history. Sad. Just another angry muslim wanting to kill christians.

hmmmm.... six cents huh? Well, perhaps rather than risk insulting Mr. Cosby, I'll invest that sum and make my donation when it's a bit more substantial. I'm sure that Hillary could easily point me in the direction of an investment opportunity that would turn six cents into a hundred thousand dollars overnight, The trick is, how does an average Joe like me do that and not land in prison, considering that I don't have the political connections and an adoring Press like she does?
I'll have to mull that one over for awhile.......
Just like the rest of us, they are fully aware that any statement made against an influential Person Of Color will be instantly thrown back in our faces as RACISM!!!
and this insidious charge alone is enough to completely destroy any white person's professional and personal life. Things like this need to be said by a clear-thinking Black Priest, and there aren't nearly enough of them around who are willing to step into the cauldron with both feet.
Fact is: This guy Farrakhan is passe, he just doesn't know it. The real problem is that American Blacks are not facing their problems with reality. They will continue to sink lower and lower, if they do not wake up and realize they are being had and used by their leaders and the Democrat Party. Sad, but true!!! With each day that passes they fall further behind the power curve, as the "other" American minorities overtake and pass them with ease. What has come out of "Black" governed New Orleans is disgraceful and a human tragedy caused by American Blacks themselves. I suspect Washington, DC, Detroit and Cleveland, etc. are in the same scenerio. What a pity and waste of humanity so called Black leaders have fostered upon their own race. The solution rests solely in the hands of Black Americans. No one else can correct these massive problems created by current Black leadership and the Democrat Party!!!
.....are tied directly to the present administration.
I suppose you agree with this part also?
You succinctly illustrate some of the reasons why I never read TIME and only discovered this "interview" purely by chance. While the 'journalists' at TIME and elsewhere haughtily defend their 'professional standards' and 'objectivity', the rest of us who actually care about the truth will spend our newsreading time with more professional, trustworthy and reliable sources
You're absolutely correct of course, but I believe that there is cause for some optimism. Thanks primarily to the internet and talk radio, Blacks as well as ALL Americans now have the previously-unknown ability to fact-check news reports and to sidestep the Geobbels-like propaganda that has oozed forth from the Dems, the "Black Leadership" and the "mainstream" media for decades.
Finally, there is an opportunity to actually hear the other side of the story. It may well take a very long time for Black Americans as a whole to undo generations of damage that has been inflicted upon them by 'the usual suspects', but I believe that ultimately the truth will set them free.
Time: In 1999 you came near death from complications of prostate cancer. You have said you were "180 seconds away from death." What happened in those three minutes and did it change you?
Farrakhan: "I loss oxygen to ma brain and I is a raving race baitin' fool now. I as igerant as day come. But I still likes to talk about stuffs I ain't got the fust clue about. hee hee "
Why would Time or anyone else give this racist nut an interview?
Louis, my perception is you are a just a Nazi masquerading as a Muslim. I heard you used to sacrifice jewish babies and eat their livers. Until you prove you didn't, it's true.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!

The clarity of your logic penetrates the darkness like the beam from a lighthouse. A tip of the furry Stoat Hat to you. :-)

I had to re-read... and the first part of the sentence was the "Christian Right".. and that part of evangelical Christianity that is politically active do have connections to the present administration.
I'm not sure of the point you are trying to make...
I guess its the nature of hate speech to tie two concepts together. Better to stir up emotions than to have a dialog...
Many of the lynchings that took place in this country took place on Sunday after church. The Christian right are tied directly to the present administration.
I was asking if you agree with Farahan that in 2005 the evangelical christians can be painted as bloody lynchers? Bad christians, evil christians..
However, I heard him discussing the mothership and the creation of the white race by an evil scientist in a recent interview so it really isn't worth having this discussion because it means paying attention to this (unfortunately) psychotic.
Back to my point about his claims of being Jesus Christ. He says Farb (the founder of the nation of islam) was god the father. Elijah Mohammad (his successor) was god the holy spirit. And he says he is Jesus Christ.
You can read these statements of "faith" when you read his savior day newspaper that comes out with the info once a year. Now, why don't good, bible believing, christian pastors approach the subject of his belief that he is God?
That is ground that would weaken his influence in the black community if it was done.
