Whataburger is the only thing my husband ever says he misses.
There is on on the Arkansas side of Stateline Blvd. in Texarkana. So you can have a Whataburger Double-Double with Jalepenos and not actually go into Texas. I do admit that you have to get uncomfortably close though.

Pick any kid off the street in Japan and draw him a picture of Texas in the dirt and he'll know what it is.I have done similar in 5 countries and everybody knew Texas. It was a thing I did when I traveled.
Just because you don't like it doesn't make it untrue.

Wow. That's even more-self-indulgent crap than I've seen from New Yorkers. Good, I hope so.
Those mooks don't have as much to be proud of.

I got to add my two cents...
Having been east coast, west coast, overseas, up north and everywhre in between, I'm ready to come home to Texas.
Been away for 15 years now and if it takes a pay cut, I'm doing to it get back to where we belong. Other folks can't understand it, but we are a proud lot. And, we care for the state. Tech grad and trying to get back as fast as we can....

Well' I'm not from Texas and I'm not in Texas... but if everything goes as planned, I will be!!!!

"Wrong-O. We fly the Lone Star at the same height as the Stars and Stripes. It was written into the agreement that made the Republic of Texas a US state."
Not trying to be a stickler on this as I also live in Texas - a wide spot in the road in Denton County called Krugerville (sometimes referred to endearingly as "Hooterville") - but exactly where is this written?
I've often heard this story as well for years but no one has ever provided said where one could find this "statute."

There's a Whataburger in Petersburg? Where?

But if the first thing you are going to do when the Good Lord calls your number is find the men who sat in that tiny mission in San Antonio and shake their hands, then you're the reason I wrote this tonight, and this is for you.Rare Texas ping.

Several people have said what their state has. Thats one of the things about Texas. It's so big it pretty much has at least a little of what every other state has. I have lived in Texas my whole life. Spent time in about 20 other states and all had a lot of good stuff except Lousyiana. It ain,t braggin if its true.

My mother is a Texan first and an American second. At 91, she yells at the nursing home attendants..."Damn Yankees, git me sumthin' I can et!".
Mom's great grandfather fought with Martin's Brigade, company F of the 5th Texas Partisan Rangers.
Health wise, she 's doing better than I am.

No offense, but Texas weather is so %#* hot and humid You've just been to the wrong part. Where I live, it's been 75 to 80 degrees all week, about 20 percent humidity, and wind hasn't gotten over 15 mph all week. (Plus the women here are the prettiest).

We are the only state with stores in nearly every Mall that sell nothing but
stuff shaped like Texas. Is there any other state like that?

We just saw the one in Petersburg the other day when we were up there looking at houses, we didn't stop. Petersburg is much closer to us than Arkansaw, but thanks for the info.
