I've known Charlie for years and, although I wouldn't presume to call him a close "friend", I respect and admire him, his wife Hazel and those who work in his organization. I've had the opportunity to sit and share thoughts with him at the end of the day and, while I won't share any specifics, I can say with the highest confidence that he would never entertain the idea that any man can do anything good, noble or enduring without dependence upon God Himself, especially not "beating the devil".

I used to absolutely abhor any and all country music. Only punk, alternative, or just rock in general would suffice.

However, after a while you get kinda' worn down by the secular humanist, immoral drivel and I began to listen just for the sake of being able to listen to a popular musical piece that was remotely edifying.

Now I rather enjoy it. ;-)

You really can't be a "good country boy" without being a good Christian. Intellectual elites can insult the south for their perceived "simple-mindedness" but I'll willingly support the southern culture over the licentious hip-hop/rock culture anyday...hands down.

God bless Charlie and all those good 'ol country boys :-D
