Then finding out it was a lie. I am against the White House lying to one of the top Christian leaders in our country to influence him to shepherd fellow Christians into the 'pro Miers' flock. As a Christian, I am deeply offended by this manipulation."

I am opposed to Miers' nomination myself, but I have yet to read or hear that. Please point me in that direction if you could. I'd like to also forward that on to Melanie and a few others.

I believe a claim of that by Priscilla Owen is contained upthread. But at this point, do you expect any potential future nominee to open his mouth and say, "Wait a minute, he's a liar!" about the guy they are hoping might nominate them next time around?
