I think a more appropriate punishment would be to tie the guy to a chair, arm the boy's family with baseball bats and let them have a "go" at him.
I can't describe my feeling for this guy without a few choice expletives.
Nah, more like tie him to the chair, put a t-bone down his shorts, beat the dog up for a while, then let it loose locked in a room with him.
That would be fun.
Actually, he should be charged with attempted murder.
But first, don't feed the pit bull for a few days.
I can never understand why people want dogs that bite around. Certainly having a barking dog that will protect a person if someone is attacked is fine. But these animals dont have to be pit bulls. I know plenty of other breeds that will attack when their owner is attacked but are nice as pie otherwise. Having said that: Just about any dog will chase a car or a go-cart. You always wonder what an animal would do if they caught one, In this case,Now you know.
I doubt that dog would have left my yard alive. 12 gauge justice works.

Yep, as it is, he'll probably get a fine, maybe a few days jailtime. I keep saying we put too small a value on the lives and well being of the weakest (e.g., our children).
Ooops...article does say, two years max jail time.
But I still maintain that's not enough.

True...but I'm willing to guess that if you did that, you would also be going to jail...perhaps longer than this guy (two years).
Dog of peace...the Islam of dog breeds strikes again.
Pit bulls ... kill them ... kill them all.

I swear I only pushed it once...
No, you didn't. I saw your little digit finger punching twice.:)
Easier than killing ignorance and irresponsibilty.
Who cares if responsible owners rights are trampled and innocent dogs slaughtered.
I don't see Cocker Spaniels in the news ripping up innocent children.
Knowledgeable people rarely hold that opinion.
Just to help stir up the pot, let's hear from all the "we have a right to own a pit bull" people.
